My first trip to the motherland was amazing! Everyone that I encountered was purposeful, patient, peaceful, and prepared. All activities were engaging, energized, and excellent. Jay, Nana, Amanuel, Dallas,, Morris, Tony and the rest of the crew were amazing. Maximum Impact deserves a 5 stars rating. Keep up the great work! PS On a final note,, please have a variety of lunch meal options besides buffet. Overall, The trip has been my best experience so far and created Ghana a special place in my heart. Surely, I plan to visit with my family next.

Ghana 2025 ???????? – A Trip We’ll Never Forget This journey was nothing short of amazing! With Bishop RC & First Lady Lisa Blake setting the tone and Jay and Maximum Impact Travel making everything seamless, Ghana 2025 was more than just a vacation — it was a powerful, joyful, and deeply meaningful experience. From the vibrant culture to the dancing, the food, the laughter, and the unforgettable connections — every moment was filled with purpose and passion. Queenology reminded us of the royalty within — that we are truly Queens. And the naming sermon gave us a deeper understanding of where our ancestors came from, grounding us in legacy and identity in the most beautiful way. We came as travelers… but left as family. ???? Thank you Bishop RC, First Lady Lisa, Jay, and the entire Maximum team for curating a trip that fed our souls and left an imprint on our hearts. #Ghana2025 #MaximumImpactTravel #RCAndLisaBlake #JayTheAnchor #BlackExcellenceAbroad #LegacyAndLaughter #QueenologyInAfrica #TripOfALifetime

The experience was one of a kind, being that this was my first time with a tour group, I enjoyed it very much. I learned a lot and my knowledge of the continent of Africa grew. I gained some wonderful friendships and enjoyed the tour guides; they were very helpful and courteous. I would most definitely recommend to everyone I know to visit Ghana and tour with Maximum Impact Travel. I am looking forward to many more travel adventures with this company. I was most definitely happy with the experience. It was great meeting with RC & Lisa Blakes who were very kind and down to earth, and Jay Cameron, the owner of Maximum Impact Travel was also very welcoming and amiable. I can’t say enough about the tour guides: Morris, Irene, Ana Ama, George, Victoria and Dallas, also the drivers of the bus and all the helpers/assistants, whose names I did not get, they were exceptional. Thank you all for the wonderful experience and I will definitely be telling everyone I know to book with this company.

I’ve been wanting to visit Africa for years but kept putting it off. That all changed July 2024 when Pasto RC Blakes and Mrs. Blakes announced their travel group was headed to Ghana in July 2025! I immediately signed up to go along with my son. Throughout the year, we were kept abreast of the process every step of the way. Any questions I emailed were answered quickly with a day. No stone was left unturned with Maximum Impact Travel. The Itinerary was packed each day as our tour guides immersed us within the Ghanaian culture with visits to museums, the slave Dungeons, Mausoleums, drumming lessons, shopping, fine dining, etc… My son and I will definitely be traveling again with Pastor RC Blakes and Mrs. Blakes in the future with Maximum Impact Travel!

They say nothing is as good as the first time. But when it comes to travel experiences with Maximum Impact Travel, each experience keeps getting better. This was my second time traveling to Ghana with MIT, and all I can say is JUST WOW! Every expectation was met and every need was handled to perfection. Looking forward to my next trip with Maximum Impact Travel next year!

From airport arrival to airport departure, the MIT team and their affiliates accommodated us like dignitaries. The designated hotels, selected restaurants, tours, and improvised stops along way were excellent. A handful of planned activities and stops were unexpectedly canceled due to factors beyond MIT’s control (e.g., weather challenges, unexpected holiday closures, etc), but the guides were able to pivot and improvise. It was all money / time well spent.

This was an excellent trip – very well planned and organized, with each day conducted as expected. Historical information, sightseeing, shopping, and the atmosphere of Ghana were experienced during this tour. We were able to try excellent foods in a variety of restaurants. The guides were excellent, and provided extensive narratives about the sites we visited, answering questions while accommodating the individual needs of our party. Thank you, Rosanne Smith

I had a wonderful time on this trip to Accra Ghana. It was the most enjoyable trip I have been on. (It’s the truth) Seeing all your brother’s and sister’s look like you. If you ever get a chance you go to Africa, choose whatever country you want to go to. Maximum Impact Travel you can’t go wrong. I’m 82 yrs old and it was another person (lady) she also was also 82 yrs old. We were the oldest on this trip 10/28 -11/05/2024. Thank Maximum Impact Travel Nicholas Williams

I enjoyed the places we visited and all the history Morris the tour guide shared with us. He is very knowledgeable , made the trip great with his kindness and care of us. I wish he would have been assigned as the guide for the entire tour. I appreciate that all the restaurants serve food I recognize and enjoyed as well as food of their country. It was a good experience.

I had the best time of my life in Ghana! I’ll never forget that right after being welcomed with ‘akwaaba,’ we were told, ‘This is your home; walk as it is yours as soon as your feet hit the ground.’ From that moment, I felt an incredible sense of belonging. It was amazing to look around, as far as the eye could see, and see only people who looked like me—it truly touched my heart. Every local I encountered was so welcoming and made me feel like they genuinely wanted me there. The tour company staff was exceptional—they were knowledgeable about every site, tour, dish, and cultural detail, and they went above and beyond to make the entire trip unforgettable. I have made lifetime connections and look forward to returning to Ghana and booking another tour with this amazing company!

What makes separates a good tour trip from a GREAT tour trip are 2 things: 1. How staff handle unexpected issues. 2. how they care for the members on the tour. Morris, Irene, George, Jude, Mahmu (please forgive me if I misspelled anything): These folks fixed a couple of issues for me and a family member that made the trip so much more enjoyable. And they generally care about the welfare of the members on tour! Then…great food, great conversation, great places. Very knowledgeable. Established a couple of life-long connections, child-friendly… We enjoyed the trip and the staff!

We Would Happily Do It Again! Our family had a magnificent trip organized by Maximum Impact (MI). MI customized our itinerary to cover South Africa (J-Burg/Cape Town) and Zambia (Victoria Falls) in 14 days. There are many reasons for our strong recommendation to book your trip with MAXIMUM IMPACT (MI). Our trip was superbly organized. Every detail in our itinerary was accurate and expertly managed. Anitha, our MI on-site coordinator and Herbie our local guide rolled with any issue we had including a lost camera, missing passport and illness . We traveled in luxury motor coaches to our destinations and MI Staff were always early, and ready to stay late. We received special treatment everywhere we went, and it was obviously because Anitha & Herbie are well known and respected. Our “Cousins Crew Family Experience” memories will bring smiles to our faces for a long time. Thanks to Maximum Impact for making this possible. Barbara/Don Armstead

This trip was soooo A-mazing!!! The tour guide Morris and his team did a phenomenal job!!!! He ensured we had the best experience and everyone felt safe and secure under his leadership and guidance. Our group became a family by the end of the trip. We had jam-packed days full of cultural experiences, history, and fun. Our lives will forever be changed. Special thank you sooo much to Morris, Irene, Vicky, George, Noah (the best bus driver on the continent), Kofi and Omar. Urban Intellectual you have done an amazing job connecting travelers with local tour guides to provide such an enriched and loving experience. I will definitely be traveling with you all again and spreading the word.

Considering the many times I have traveled specifically to Africa, I will say this was the most immersive experience. We were on a tight schedule the included the most wonderful cultural experiences. I met so many like minded people which made the group cohesive. Definitely worth the money and would have paid for a day or two extension to really relax and enjoy with a little more time. The only disappointment was the “cooking class” that was more of a demonstration and again not enough time to relax and enjoy the experience. I loved the different modes of transportation especially the ferry on the bus! this was an amazing experience with people an important aspect of every day life, traveling home. Needless to say our host and the team were very informative, personable , attentive ,knowledgeable. The size of the group was prefect. I have recommended them to others and look forward to more experiences. Too bad I’ve done South Africa, Tanzania, Dubai, and Egypt. I have Ghana planned but because of Monkeypox outbreak not sure.

I truly enjoyed my time on this trip to Tanzania & Zanzibar. Maximum Impact Travel made planning the trip easy. The zoom calls also gave you great information on preparing for the trip. The group I joined were friendly and like family! Accommodations were excellent! The food was great as well. It was very exciting to see the animals in their natural habitat. The artwork from carving, to bead work and paintings were excellent! You get a better (and more accurate) idea of life and culture of Tanzania. A great learning experience. I plan to go back again. I would recommend this trip and using Maximum Impact Travel for your vacation excursions!

Wow, wow, WOW!!!! What an amazing, over the top, beyond all expectations experience this was!! Where to even begin?! Well, Jay and his team are absolute superstars for one, they had everything so well organized, that I felt completely taken care of from start to finish with zero stress! R.C. and Lisa are so genuine, so real and true, what an adorable sweet family! I met awesome people from all over the States that are so kind, I hope to travel with them again in the future! Egypt was a BIG deal for me, as my father’s ancestral line comes from the Mediterranean, North Africa and Egypt. This was a chance to feel those roots, my first time ever setting foot on the African continent and I knew my father’s spirit was with me watching from Heaven. I felt so welcomed, so at home, more than anywhere I’d ever traveled before and I’ve been to a few places! The emphasis on culture, spirituality, the Nubian village experience, I doubt any regular tour could offer that. Our guide Prince was outstanding and has a great heart and spirit! Meshi-meshi, yallah! Haha!! The Egyptians are wonderful, beautiful, and a pleasure to meet. It meant the world to me to spend my birthday in that ancient land, the connection you feel is real! I trust Maximum Impact 1000% and can’t wait to go on another adventure with them! It was truly life changing and transformative in so many positive ways, I came back a better, stronger, more confident version of myself. Thank you to everyone involved, Jay and Prince, RC and Lisa and family, all the team and all the lovely people that came along! This was a lifelong dream of mine finally come true. There really are no words that can express how deeply this experience has touched my soul. The sounds, sights, people, and beauty of that land will remain with me forever. It was meant to be, the right place at the right time with the right people. Just in time! God always has a plan!! My faith is renewed, roots are strengthened, and I am forever grateful. Thank you everyone, from the very bottom of my heart. Love to you all and God Bless ???? ❤ Elizabeth M.

This journey started in 2017 when We we visited the lynching memorial in Montgomery Alabama. In front of the memorial is a sculpture of enslaved Africans in chains. Seeing this sculpture was surreal, ive never seen anything regarding slavery look so real. That night i found a video about the Doors of No Return. That started the planning to visit the continent of Africa. Not being familiar with the many African countries we had to pick one, after seeing the first video from Maximum Impact, and being from the DMV, we were sold. Jay answered all our question, and addressed our concerns. When we landed in Ghana, we were at ease the moments we saw the Maximum Impact sign and Morris. I was very familiar with Morris from the videos, we immediately hit it off. We felt welcomed by everyone. We were home. The Maximum Impact team was on point, from accommodations, scheduling, attractions, history, food, transportation and photography; all we can say is EXCELLENT. We are so glad to have this experience we will never forget and we will be back very soon with more of our family members. Thank you so much for all y’all do????

SuperCaliFraGilisticExpialiDocious. Yes, it’s the song from Mary Poppins BUT it’s the only word I can use to express the immense level of gratefulness I feel that GOD blessed my son and I to take such an EXTRAordinary trip of a lifetime. What also made this trip magnificent was being surrounded by the perfect mix of men and women, all age groups from 23 to 70 year olds who took loving care of each other just like family. No one was left behind, the young honored and learned from the elders, the elders reveled in the younger and everyone in between. It was truly an unspoken each one, teach one atmosphere. Meeting the curator of this trip, Jay Cameron was phenomenal as well. Discussing his history and how it led to the creation of Maximum Impact Travel. You rarely if ever hear the curator interacting with people on group trips. I’m so glad for the opportunities to have multiple conversations with Jay. Especially with him taking before and after pictures on many of the shopping excursions. The staff on the Nile River boat was superb, from the front desk, to dining area, to the bar, to concierge all accommodations were thoroughly taken care of. I wouldn’t be mad if the entire trip was on the boat. The variety and freshness of the food was more than I could ever think of. Kudos to the chef for such a beautiful display of scrumptious delicacies for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We were submerged so deep in Egyptian history we could swim for miles with the amount of knowledge, truth, science and theories presented to us by our well educated and proficient Egyptologists, Maii and Prince. The entire trip, I was so enamored in the richness of their cultural vocabulary I switched between recording them both on the tours. I needed both perspectives! Maii’s green eyes sparkled, her face completely lit up with sheer joy when she explained Cairo, Luxor, Aswan history, especially the exhibits. Prince’s cheerful smile, direct eye contact and glee during his explanation of the tombs draw you in. Prince is definitely ‘THE MAN’ around all the cities we visited, a problem solver and pure protector. The entire group was 200% safe. The other team Nadeer and Muhammed (The candy man) with his box of delicious assortment of chocolates ensured any of our miscellaneous travel and luggage needs were met. With both Maii and Prince you couldn’t help but ask more questions to learn more about the Egyptian culture. A lot of it ties right back to the beautiful and unfortunate historical struggles of ancient African Americans. Learning from the locals was a wealth of knowledge I will continue to research, from the cotton store, to Syed at the Papyrus which was extremely entertaining, to Veevo at Aromatherapy store, to the Ahmed and his family owned spice store, Adam our driver on horse n buggy ride, the team at dirt bike shop, it was an honor to have Mr. Akmed and his beautiful family opening his home at the Nubian Village to all of us. The angelic faces of children at Nubian village made want to hug and interact with them all. And the Fenti Nubian village greeting, show and dinner along the Nile. All of the craftmanship paintings, tools, dancing, smiles, I really felt at home there. The ultra highlight of the entire trip of a lifetime was meeting and traveling with Pastor RC and Lisa Blakes. Without their call out in 2023 for this adventure my son and I would’ve never gone in 2024. To be able to have a natural and honest conversation with him about life’s path was enlightening. I am so incredibly grateful for the purity of his preaching and advice since following him in 2018. Many of his messages made me straighten up my posture with GOD and my crown as a single woman. I’ve been walking in that glory ever since. RC Blakes and Lise online is exactly who they are in person and more. Mrs. Lisa is a woman about her family’s business, she’s funny, direct, a wise gem and a great negotiator. It was a pleasure laughing, talking and dancing with her. She is a total inspiration. Overall, my son and I made so many connections that will continue even after the trip. If I could go on this Egyptian excursion for a second time with the exact same group, I would go again in a heartbeat. Thank you, RC and Lisa, from the entire depth of my heart for extending this wonderful opportunity to your community. We shall definitely see each other again.

My trip to Egypt was amazing. Had the pleasure to finally meet Bishop RC Blakes. I appreciate he and his wife, Lady Lisa planning this once in a lifetime experience. This was my first time traveling with a travel group and Maximum Impact exceeded my expectations. The trip was a great balance of activities and rest. Cruising down the Nile was my first cruise experience and it was so much fun. The hot air balloon ride was breathtaking. When Jay says he knows his people regarding travel, he isn’t lying. The food options were plentiful even though I have food restrictions. I also appreciated the passion of our tour guides, Prince and Mai. The knowledge they imparted, is disrupting patterns for sure. The Maximum Impact staff was attentive. My only concern was being assigned a smoking room at the Sheraton hotel at the tail end of the trip. The smoke from the nearby room was disturbing. I didn’t bring the issue to the Impact staff but I am sure if I did, it would have been handled. Maybe in the future, a non-smoking option can be given as an option beforehand. Overall my trip to Egypt was a great experience. I will definitely sign up for future trips with Maximum Impact Travel. Trip date: June 22-30, 2024

My trip to Egypt was the best trip I ever had. My 91 year old Dad recently passed away and to fly from Arkansas to Egypt was a challenge, But God. Love the staff, crew and family of friends … I am overwhelmed from the blessings of the Lord…..Hope to see all again soon one day. Praying for alll in Jesus name…. Terry Lynn

To say we had a great time is an understatement!! Now, I have traveled internationally many times and with other travel agencies, some black and some white. But Jay, but Jay, when I tell you this was one of the Best curated trips, with over 50 people, that went flawlessly! You and your team are to be commended! Your office team, your team on the ground at every location, impressive and impactful! This was one of the most amazing trip ever. Learning new knowledge of our culture that has never been taught in school. A very educational trip. Meeting new people that enjoy the same knowledge as you was a bonus. The food was delicious, the breaking of bread together, the laughs were beyond anything that I expected. I am excited for the next journey together. Everything was over the top. Thank you Bishop RC and Pastor First Lady Lisa Blakes, Jay, Prince and the rest of the team. To describe this trip as a mere vacation undermines the true experience. From the planning, itinerary, ground crew, admin staff and local guides it was truly amazing. As a seasoned traveler of a certain age, Maximum Impact delivers on all cylinders. They don’t miss a beat. And I have traveled with many travel groups over the years. Jay Cameron only selects the best of the best for his travel members. In the end you can’t help the feeling that you have found some new family. I had the best time of my life . I can’t wait to visit more new destinations with Maximum Travel.

My journey to Egypt with RC and Lisa and Maximum Impact Travel was indeed the trip of a lifetime! Curating an amazing experience was clearly top of mind (e.g., the flights (international and domestic); Sheraton Hotel Cairo; Movenpick cruise; food; local transportation; tours; and so much more), and you all did just that! The curated experience was TRULY AMAZING, and EVERYTHING was so carefully thought out and well-planned! I saw some of the most breathtaking sights and met some of the warmest, most welcoming, and amazing people! Egyptian history is so rich, and just stepping foot on Egyptian/African soil made me feel an even stronger sense of self and pride. I received one of the most unforgettable birthday celebrations while on this trip, from people I did not know, and who did not know me, and I was moved to tears because of my gratitude for the amount of real love felt and shown. I have the most beautiful photos to always remind me of the essence of this remarkable adventure; and I am forever a changed woman, for the better, because of this meaningful, powerful, and extraordinary trip. To RC and Lisa and Maximum Impact Travel: thank you! Thank you for curating the trip of a lifetime!

This journey to Egypt was my first international trip and was truly an amazing experience. Jay and Prince are genuinely nice, down to earth people and I enjoyed meeting them and learning about Egyptian history and culture. The hotel, food, cruise, bus rides, flights, boat rides, motorcycle and horse drawn carriage rides, pontoon boat ride, balloon ride, quad bike ride, (reminds me of the song I don’t care how you get here by Oleta Adams) were top-notch quality and fun. Thank you for facilitating a wonderful adventure. I definitely will be taking another trip with Maximum Impact. Until next time!

There’s so much that I could say about this trip! After my first trip to Africa with friends, my desire to see more of the continent became a goal and not just a desire. That trip to Tanzania and Zanzibar was absolutely amazing, but for me, it lacked exploring the African history that I heard bits and pieces of from our tour guides and the locals. After that trip, I started to explore African-American travel groups that focused on the continent and history of Africa and I came across Jay Cameron and Maximum Impact Travel. I listened, I learned, I followed the trips, but more importantly I heard facts about the history, the beauty, the people, and the many different aspects of the culture of Africans. I decided to travel to Africa with a purpose of learning, enjoying, and experiencing all that it has to offer. And let me just say that traveling to Senegal and The Gambia with Maximum Impact Travel. was the best decision for me. There was laughter, tears, friendship, education, exploring, and so many amazing experiences and emotions that happen in the short time we spent in each location. It was very well organized, the accommodations were amazing, the tour guide group was professional, experienced, and attentive to our needs, there was not one detailed missed. And we had the pleasure of having Jay Cameron join us on this trip! He is very experienced and has so much knowledge to share! The three ladies that decided to travel with me have nothing but good things to say and have thanked me over and over for introducing them to the Medimpact travel experience. I have set a goal to visit one African country a year, and I know that there will be future trips with Maximum Impact Travel. Dr. Dawn Martin

What a memorable, life changing and impactful experience to Senegal and the Gambia. The entire trip was well organized and structured in a way that we captured the culture and traditions of both countries in a very personal way. Going into a village, being greeted by the Chief, participating in a renaming ceremony amongst the singing, dancing and drumming are all etched in my mind forever! The fresh foods and especially the fruits were a part of our daily meals, but the most impressive part to me was the welcoming spirit of all of the people constantly saying, “Welcome home my brothers and sisters!!! Welcome home!!” Traveling with Jay Cameron and Freddie Taylor is an annual tradition for my husband and I now! Being retired, we are living our best lives! One hassle, no fuss, just pay $199 down, relax and let them do the rest! EVERYONE should return to the MOTHERLAND at least once and the BEST way to know is with Jay and Freddie????????❤️???????? I had an amazing time traveling with Urban Intellectuals and Maximum Impact. Freddie Taylor and Jay Cameron, you 2 young men have created something special. I’ve done quite a bit of traveling but none so rewarding as the Gambia. Some walked with lions. I touched an alligator. Yes, I touched an alligator’s tail. The food and accommodations met my expectations. I learned so much in just those few days and looking forward to traveling to future places with this group. This was my first time traveling solo and loved doing it! Patricia S.

This was a fantastic travel experience! The organizers, Maximum Impact Travel, Jay Cameron and Urban Intellectuals, Freddie Taylor, thought of everything. Every detail was taken care of from the amazing, once-in-a-lifetime experiences planned to the smallest details. The local African staff that traveled with us daily (Meeca, Abdoulah, Mamadue, and Anitha, provided us with special care, and educational information about the locations we visited, and made us feel safe everywhere we went. The staff was there for us. If we needed assistance, it was there from all the staff and even fellow passengers. They provided daily schedules that made our operation more efficient. The accommodations were fantastic! We stayed at three hotels and they all were top-notch choices. The food was delicious, we experienced so many amazing restaurants and food options. If it would make the trip more enjoyable, Jay and Freddie Provided it. Some of our experiences were: Museum of Black Civilizations, Goree Island, Safari, Wildlife Reserve. We were constantly busy and engaged in a variety of experiences provided. I can’t say enough about this five-star travel experience. Thank you Maximum Impact Travel and Urban Intellectuals!!! I would definitely travel with them again. Marian B

Amazingly smooth and packed full of off the beaten path places. Jay creates these trips with the appearance of great ease. The trip also contained a lot of black history learning in real time including debriefing and deeper insight on the hard issues. Hotels were beautiful. Food was delicious. I’ve always wanted to go to Senegal and this was the trip to to do it.

Shoutout to Maximum Impact Travel and Urban Intellectuals for providing a fabulous trip with multiple wonderful experiences in such a small period of time. From interacting with real live lions, crocodiles, monkeys to an exciting ATV ride to a remote village where we received our official African name and participation in libation to our ancestors while making new friends. I learned a lot about the culture of Senegal and Gambia through Senegalese and Gambian experts. The entire trip was fabulous with more activities than I can possibly list. I can’t wait for the next trip. Thank you Jay and Freddie for your attention to all the details.

This was my first time to the continent, and I knew I wanted to travel with a group. I was grateful to have experienced tour directors and guides that were familiar with the region and helped us not only navigate the geography, but the cultural and language divides. The trip was effortless once I arrived in Senegal. I didn’t have to think about anything. I only had to show up at designated times and locations. The activities were fun, educational, and relevant for this travel experience.

Where do I start. This was my fourth trip to the continent and my first trip with Maximum. They delivered everything that was planned and more. The travelers were wonderful and I made new friends. The experience was unbelievable. We saw the soul of Senegal and Gambia. The tour to Gorée Island is a must for all African Americans. To stand where our ancestors laid awaiting those nasty vessels, is a spiritual experience. Walking with the lions, feeding crocodiles and monkeys. The beautiful beaches, the delicious food, the great hotels. And the service from Jay’s team; Professional and organized. I highly recommend you use Max if you want the “black” experience in the Mother Land. I will definitely be a repeat customer. Europe is nice but Africa is home away from home with your/our people and culture.

I am so happy to have chosen Maximum Impact Travel for my first trip to the African continent. I experienced more than I could have expected or imagined during the MIT April 2024 Egypt Experience. From the moment I was greeted at the airport by ‘Amgd’, I knew I was in the hands of a professional team, and any concerns about safety were eradicated. There are so many gems about this trip that made it an extraordinary experience for me. Firstly, I got to experience Egypt as an honorary member of the Dunamis Women group, who were extremely welcoming, and whom I blended in effortlessly. Secondly, was the expertise, knowledge, and care of our Tour guide ‘Prince’. He is a true rockstar and scholar on all things Egypt. Prince took the Egypt experience above and beyond expectations. He provided an excellent mix of Temples, Pyramids, historic sites, culinary and shopping experiences. Then of course there’s ‘Jay Cameron’ the mastermind behind it all. I was fortunate to have had the opportunity to experience Egypt with Jay. I witnessed Jay in the present, enjoying Egypt with the group, while working on what’s to come. Very impressed with Jay and his subtle but powerful leadership abilities. Jay and his team ultimately, bought this tour to a successful conclusion, provided memories and experiences of a lifetime. I look forward to joining Jay and Team MIT in the near future to gather more travel experiences

An experience of a lifetime! Non stop adventure from the time we landed through our departure. The agenda was spot on, starting with our visit to Goree Island, a World Heritage Site, painfully reminding us of the horrific events during the Atlantic Slave trade. The heavy emotions I felt walking through the slave quarters and passing through the door of no return will forever be ingrained in memory. We also had the opportunity to visit a remote village where we had a festive time and received our Senegalese names. The journey to the village was via ATVs, giving us the opportunity to traverse sandy obstacles along with an exhilarating ride on the beach providing a breathtaking view of the Atlantic Ocean. The agenda allowed time to enjoy Senegal/The Gambia as we stayed at top notch resorts on the coast, surrounded by local markets and a variety of restaurants serving the most amazing food, highly flavorful and fresh! Please consider this trip! Who knows, maybe, like me, you too can experience the opportunity to walk with lions!!!

My sister and I had the privilege to travel to Senegal and The Gambia with the most professional agency. It was a great educational experience for me personally. This is my second trip with Urban Intellectuals/Maximum Impact. I would recommend Urban Intellectuals/Maximum Impact to anyone who would like to have a meaningful traveling experience. Thank you very much for making this trip very special for me and my sister.

This was a life changing experience. I’ve looked at ancient Kemet in books and documentaries since I was a child. It all came into manifestation. This trip was done in excellence and it made my experience phenomenal. Both Jay and Prince planned perfectly. Words can’t express how I felt seeing and hearing about my ancestors. I’m forever grateful! I’m looking forward to the next trip with Jay! Ghana, Nigeria and Ivory Coast, here I come!

I usually do not give reviews but this journey to Egypt was something that I could not have imagined. The preplanning and the information that was received prior to leaving the USA was 100% on point and useful. The way all information was disseminated to all traveler’s was stellar. No time during my travel did I ever feel unsafe or in harms way. The boots on the ground at every part of the trip was amazing. From the airport arrivals to the hotel to the cruise ship to all the departures – never once missing a beat! It runs like a swiss watch – never needing winding and always available to you. I would be remiss if I also did not call out Prince – the Egyptologist who has taught me so much that I thought I already knew, but didn’t. But to the man behind Maximum Impact – Jay – you run a top class organization. I am thankful that Maximum Impact and Dunamis Woman have collaborated on this journey and I look forward to many more journeys. Susanna Bendel Susanna B

Trip of a Lifetime, EGYPT in the month of APRIL 2024 TO MAY 5TH 2024 was truly an unforgettable & amazing experience with Maximum Impact Travel and Memphis Tours. From the beginning – my arrival in Cairo and meeting Amgad upon landing, he was extremely helpful and seamlessly navigated our group with obtaining the required VISA, baggage claim, clearing customs, and ground transportation to the Luxury Hotel in Cairo. Special handling of luggage was taken by Amgad to ensure we received all luggage upon checking into the Hotel after lunch in Cairo. Our Egyptologist tour guide, Ahmed, BKA “Prince”, took great care of all of our needs to ensure we learned the truth about Kemet – Our History/Egyptian History and gave us 1st class exploration of the ancient wonders in Egypt and along the Nile through the stop in Aswan, every aspect of the trip was curated to offer a remarkable cultural and historical experience. Everything from the food, accommodations and sites was top notch. I left Egypt with a greater appreciation of our culture. THANK YOU FOR MIT for this amazing experience!!!

I recently embarked on an unforgettable journey to Egypt with the Dunamis Women led by Pastor Dee and Ariel, arranged by the Maximum Impact Team, and it exceeded all expectations. From the moment we landed in Cairo to our exploration of the ancient wonders along the Nile through the stop in Aswan, every aspect of the trip was meticulously curated to offer a profound cultural and historical experience. One of the highlights was undoubtedly our visit to the Nubian village, where we were warmly welcomed into the heart of this vibrant community. Immersing ourselves in their traditions, cuisine, and daily life provided invaluable insights into Nubian culture, adding a layer of depth to our understanding of Egypt’s rich heritage. Throughout the journey, our knowledgeable guide Prince, shared captivating stories and historical anecdotes, enriching my appreciation for the iconic sites such as the Pyramids of Giza, Karnak Temple, and Luxor’s Valley of the Kings. Prince truly left his mark on my consciousness and challenged me to see myself in ways I hadn’t previously contemplated. Maximum Impact’s attention to detail was evident in every aspect of the trip, from seamless logistics to carefully selected accommodations that provided both comfort and authenticity. The itinerary struck a perfect balance between structured tours and leisure time, allowing us to savor each destination at our own pace. Many thanks to Jay Cameron for personally making ensuring everything went smoothly and chronicling the experience with brilliant photos and videos. In addition to the cultural immersion, the trip fostered lasting connections for me with the Dunamis community especially the other brothers that made the trip. We undoubtedly share a passion for exploration and discovery. Our spirited discussions over traditional Egyptian meals and attire to planned adventures in the bustling marketplaces and the camaraderie enhanced the overall experience. In conclusion, my journey with Maximum Impact was nothing short of transformative. It not only deepened my appreciation for Egypt’s unparalleled treasures but also left me with cherished memories and newfound knowledge that will resonate for years to come. For anyone seeking an enriching exploration of Egypt’s culture and history, I wholeheartedly recommend Maximum Impact as the ultimate guide to unlocking the mysteries of this mesmerizing land.

I thoroughly enjoyed this trip. To some degree I felt like I was in an episode of the Life of the Rich & Famous. Every care and concern was addressed promptly. Jay, the owner of Maximum Impact traveled with us and helped to ensure no one was left behind and everyone had an opportunity to participate if that was their choice. Our tour guide Prince was attentive to the needs and concerns of the group and went over and beyond to make us feel welcome. He possessed and shared his vast knowledge of all that we saw. They both went out of the way to provide a memorable experience.

Words can not describe how amazing this trip was. From the moment we stepped off the airplane in Cairo to boarding again for home 9 days later, my expectations were exceeded. From the beauty of Egypt to the service of Maximum Impact Travel, I am so grateful to have been able to have been a part of this experience. We were able to not only see historic and beautiful sites like the Great Pyramids and Sphinx but also cruise the breathtaking Nile River and cities of Luxor and Aswan. At every stop were we’re able to experience the welcoming atmosphere provided by the Egyptian people. A big highlight was the visit to the Nubian Village in Aswan. All of this was given to us from the perspective of how our people impacted the world. Our guide, Ahmed, AKA “Prince”, was a force to be reckoned with. His knowledge as an Egyptologist and a proud Nubian coupled with his passion to protect, guide and inspire his travelers is unmatched. Everything from the food, accommodations and sites was top notch. I left Egypt with a greater appreciation of my people, my culture and even myself. To say this trip was life changing seems too simplistic. I look forward to the next trip with Maximum Impact and to have my worldview expanded even the more. Thank you, Jay Cameron and the whole Maximum Impact Travel team, for putting together an experience that has changed how I will aim to travel from now on. I WILL travel the world with purpose and intention, to grow, learn and have fun while doing it!

I knew this would be the trip of a lifetime and it did not disappoint. It was worth every single penny. I learned so much about my history, the people were so warm and welcoming and we were beyond safe! I had a peace and sense of security that I don’t even feel sometimes at home. Egypt is a beautiful place and I am truly blessed to have experienced it. Now as far as maximum impact travel…I was blown away. Everything was in order, we were always on schedule, even when we weren’t! Our group likes to shop so I’m sure there was some behind the scenes hiccups but if so we couldn’t tell. The accommodations, the food…everything was wonderful. By the time our 9 days was up it felt like a bond had been created with Jay and our guides. It was simply amazing. Maximum Impact you outdid yourselves!!!

This trip was more than amazing. It wasn’t the average vacation or getaway. Yes, all who attended Dunamis Woman in Egypt had a wonderful time. From the time we landed, we were handled with care. From the time we landed, we were handled with care. Our Maximum Impact personal concierge handled all our concerns with pride, professionalism, and consideration. The Fairmont Nile City’s entire staff was welcoming, pleasant, courteous, and delivered the royal treatment. The ambiance was beautiful and inviting. From the relaxed cocktail lounges and rooftop pool, the gorgeous décor of the Bal El Nil and Saigon Restaurants, the fresh flowers, the view of the Nile River, the food and service received was a true representation of the 5-star rating it greatly deserved… did I mention the food? Mm, Mm good. Our Egyptologist Prince was wonderful. Through the Pyramids, Sphinx, Tombs, and Temples, Prince solidified some of my conspiracy theories while educating me on the History of Egypt. Our beginnings, the Exodus, and the truth explained where it aligns with biblical facts. Describing the Kings and Queens we descended from. He explained the who, what, and why they worshipped the Gods they worshipped. The evidence in the ruins of who we are is remarkable. The evidence of who God made us to be could not be kept a secret no matter how hard the enemy tried. Thousands of years later it’s still here for those who want to see. I see the Black Panther (intelligence unmatched), The Woman King (power of woman), and The Lion King (royalty and kingdom mindset) movies differently. The key in all was remembering who we are. Prince also took us to a simpler, giving, sharing, and loving time through the Nubian people and village. I loved it. It reminds me of what’s truly important. We are all family, and it takes a village. Oh yeah! make sure to get your coins ready for the family-owned Papyrus Shop, Alabaster Shop, and the Oil and Spice Shop. Jay Cameron, thank you and Maximum Impact for organizing a wonderful experience. Everything was great, every mode of transportation was more than adequate for the terrains covered and events planned: Plane, Bus, Camel, Horse and Buggy, Cruise Ship, Motorboat, Tut Tut, and 4-wheeler. Maybe next time I’ll ride in a hot air balloon. At no time did I feel concerned for my safety or think about the issues in any country. It was as if all was well in the world. We were asked months ago, “What do we want to experience when we get to Egypt?” I said I wanted God to meet me there. He did, and I thank you for significantly impacting my life.

I had an amazing time. The trip was well planned out with just enough activities each day. Visiting three famous cities in different areas of Egypt each day really allowed us to get an understanding of the culture. No to mention our accomodations were 5 star with 3 meals included daily.

This was my first international trip so I really didn’t know what to expect but when I tell you THE MAXIMUM IMPACT TRAVELS TEAM set the bar high. I was introduced to excellence. From the beginning zoom calls on what to expect. To my returning flight back on US soil. MIT did not miss a beat. I felt safe and valued. I was kept abreast of what was next on schedule. I don’t really know how to put it into words but this trip was…superb, first class, supreme, exquisite and worth every darn penny spent. JAY thank you for all the wonderful pictures and joining us to make it a great experience. AHMAD thank you for getting us through the airport with ease and tying up all loose ends. FAIRMONT HOTEL thank you for the perfect stay. If there was a 10 stars rating you would definitely receive it and the restaurant crew and food was great also. TO THE CRUISE SHIP CREW thanks for the hospitality, tasty food on the cruise and I would also like to thank everyone behind the scenes. Now last but not least, PRINCE thank you for welcoming me home. You are what I imagined of a guide so knowledgeable you could answer all questions you knew your stuff. I learned so much rich history and you made this experience PERFECT. I give MIT a standing ovation ???????????????????????? Thanks again to everyone that made this possible. See you on our next adventure. I’m in such Awe Celaya Davidson.???? If I could add anything to my trip. It would have been a post office stop. To mail postcards cards to stay in the excellence that was already shown on this journey but there was no need to worry because Prince took care of that also. Thank you so much Famileeee ????

When this trip was introduced to us we were told that it is not a vacation, but an experience. I didn’t do any of my typical “research” about the Egypt as I usually do before going on vacation because I wanted to go & take it all in first hand and I’m so happy I did it that way. It was so much more than I could have ever expected. I can only imagine how much work was put in by the Maximum Impact team to make sure this would be a memorable experience. From the accommodations to the food, modes of travel, museums, temples and the Nubian village we were immersed into the culture and history. Everyone was so welcoming and takes pride in their heritage. Safety was never an issue or concern. I know this took a team, but special thanks to Jay for his vision and to Prince for helping me see all of the history, pride and determination of the people to not let anything be removed or forgotten. Thank you, thank you, thank you!! This is definitely a trip that I will share with my friends and family while encouraging them to go and experience it for themselves because it has changed me and that transformation has to take place first hand. I look forward to other experiences with Maximum Impact/Dunamis Woman &/or potentially a honeymoon. ????❤️????????

This was a trip of a Lifetime for me! I am very grateful to have done it through Maximum Impact!, alongside my Dunamis Woman Sisters! Maximum Impact laid out the Red Carpet, and set the standard high for all other travel companies to follow! Our tour guide Prince was very friendly, made us feel like family from day one and knowledgeable (I did help that he was an archaeologist in his previous professional life), he knew so much about the ancient culture and history of our people. Taken us to places and sites to meet and speak with the locals. What an experience to be hosted in the home of the Nubian Family, to share the traditions of our ancestors! Jay of Maximum Impact was awesome, from day one when our fearless leader of Dunamis Woman LLC told us of this journey, walked us through every step of this journey. Provided us with Culture Training, check-ins, and what to expect from start to finish! Also meet us in Cairo to experience with our group! I’m sure his life has been changed by our impact on him.???? I could go on and on, I will say if you are looking for an experience and not just a vacation then Maximum Impact is the company you need to use for your Experience! Thank you to all who worked to make this the BEST EXPERIENCE EVER! Felicia

This trip was AMAZING; truly beyond my expectation!!!! Hats off to our tour guide PRINCE who shared his expert, fist-hand knowledge of the “truth” about the history of Egypt. Each person involved from administration to the logistics of transportation and handling of our bags were immeasurable. AHMGOD carried us through the airport and security points with ease. And the fact that we had security with us at all times, I NEVER felt unsafe. The food was superb with a variety of choices that met every need. The visits to the museums and capturing footage of both the beautiful historical arts and communications, to the knowledge of such was mind-blowing. The visit to the oil, spice, and alabaster shops were great opportunities for memorabilias and bringing home a little touch of Egypt. Everything was above 5-STAR rating!!! Getting to let the Nile River wash up on my hand, (litterly touching the Nile) and visiting the Nubian Village were my highlights as these two experiences were very personal to me. Again, the depth of knowledge that PRINCE carries is invaluable!!! If opportunity presented itself, I would definitely go again!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND taking this trip! ????????????????????????????????????????⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thank you Maximum Impact!!!

My trip to Egypt with the Dunamis Women via Maximum Impact travel, was an authentic and unique experience. We were able to visit Cairo, Luxor, and Aswan. During our travels we saw the pyramids, some of the museums and toured the River Nile, just to name a few of the momentous moments during this trip. All of these events were led by a very knowledgeable Egyptologist by the name of Prince and assisted by two helpful men Amgad and Wallet all of Memphis travel. They rolled out the red carpet and treated us with respect, kindness and compassion. They ensured our safety and security. We left with a tremendous amount of history throughout the trip. Thank you for this unforgettable experience. It has left a lasting impression and mind shift.

Overall, I rate this travel experience as something that far exceeded anything that I imagined I’d experience. Being with a guide (Prince) who not only had the expertise, but the passion was a vital component to this trip. He made sure he explained the details of what we saw as well as the historical significance of each toured site. Also, having such a guided experience which came along with our own security personnel was very impressive. I felt extremely safe and covered being away from home. The level of service from staff members at the hotel, cruise and restaurants were 5+ star. They were friendly, fun and very accommodating to our needs. I could write so much more because I feel like this trip was specifically designed for our group. The way that we were welcomed at the airport to the personal touches like the visit to the home of an Aswan family, shows the high regard that Maximum Impact have for its travelers. We laughed, danced, cried, ate and shopped until we were content and it was one of the most satisfying experience I’ve been affiliated with in a group setting. I am going to find treasures in my experience for months to come because it was an experience of a lifetime. One that doesn’t simply allow you to go on a trip and remain the same. Such a transformative trip will speak to my soul for many years to come I’m sure! I’d recommend this trip to everyone looking to discover more about themselves as they learn more about our past!

This experience has been amazing! The care and attention given to us was outstanding, every need was met without exception. Prince, our tour guide, was very knowledgeable and accommodating in providing us with insight into the Egyptian culture and customs. His assistant (sorry I forgot his name) was always available to assist. The accommodations were five star. I would definitely recommend anyone traveling to get with Maximum Impact you won’t be disappointed.

This trip was truly extraordinary, thanks to the remarkable combination of Dunamis Woman Enterprise and Maximum Impact with Prince of Memphis Travel. Maximum Impact not only delivered impeccable customer service and coordination but also provided superior accommodations that enhanced our experience. Prince, our Egyptologist Tour Guide, was not only knowledgeable but also engaging, ensuring that our journey was personalized just for us. Under the guidance of Jay Cameron from Maximum Impact Travel, we were kept informed daily, and his excellent video footage added another layer of richness to our experience. The warmth and hospitality of the Egyptian people were unparalleled – from helping us retrieve lost items to making us feel genuinely welcome. But what truly made this trip priceless was the opportunity to uncover the truth about our African ancestry, to connect with the Nubian people, and to witness firsthand the wonders of ancient Egypt. To touch hieroglyphics carved in stone, to ponder the mysteries of their advanced knowledge, and to learn about the attempts to erase our history by defacing monuments – these experiences were not just memorable but transformative. Maximum Impact Travel didn’t just offer a trip; they provided a complete Egyptian experience that is an absolute must for everyone. Join us in unlocking the mysteries of the past and discovering the beauty of Egypt – you won’t regret it!

The trip was what I needed it to be. However, the group was too large so you really couldn’t have a true group experience. I didn’t really get the culinary experience I was looking forward to because you had to cater to so many pallettes. But I did appreciate the hotels that we were taken to. My suite was not worth the money that I paid. I was truly disappointed but the rooms were already an issue so I didn’t feel that I could request a change because they were already short. Also not going to Kumasi was a major disappointment. I felt that we should have been given another option to travel there. That was a missed opportunity. The GTP and Whoodin experience was misrepresented. They were rest stops. I would have loved to have had a beach experience. I also would have preferred more time in the design school and batik making class.

It was an amazing, life-altering experience. I love to review my photos and film clips from the trip! I think we were well advised to pack our patience although I never experienced what I thought of as an excessive wait for food or services. The food was amazing – I cannot take a lot of spice/heat but at every buffet I tried a teaspoon of everything just to be able to say I had it. Some things I loved, others I could easily pass on. The excursions and recommended dining spots were all enjoyable and/or educational. We had an enjoyable meal on our own at Bella Afrik. Our guide/representative – Wendi – provided a treasure trove of useful information, Angelina, Paul and our the bus driver were on top of their game. Overall, the various tours we took and the atmosphere was just so powerful. I could just be me, surrounded by my beautiful people both Ghanaian and African-American. It was beautiful. Making our own batik fabric was another worthwhile experience. Unfortunately, after my trip, I contracted Covid – either at the braid shop that I went to on the last morning or on the airplane. The part that is my fault as my masks remained inside my backpack in both of these situations – I cannot say why!

Life changing. Cannot express enough how educational and amazing this trip was. The travel agency did a great job keeping us engaged with various activities. The Ghanian tour guide staff were all wonderful. The hotel location was in proximity to stores and close to the airport. There really is not much I would change and I would do this trip again if the opportunity is there.

I had a great trip and will return to Ghana again. I am grateful for Sew Creative Lounge and the owners idea go on this trip and for providing experiences for learning more about fabrics as well as the culture of Ghana. The downside: we had a very large group, over 100 people. I think if the group would have been smaller things would have been more efficient. I was really looking forward to sewing a Kimono at the Art Institute, but there was a miscommunication and this did not happen. I would have like to have spent more time at the Slave River, but we were rushed because another group was waiting. This ruined what could have been a great reflexive peaceful moment. Being even only 1 1/2 hours to shop and barging with vendors was not enough time. We walked thur a market but didn’t actually stop and shop there . I went back to the market on my own time to do some shopping. But overall it was a great trip and the tour guides on my bus were very helpful to me. If Sew Creative Lounge offered the trip again I would go, but only if they limited the size of the group as the travel agent said during the first ZOOM meeting. Thanks for making a dream come true.

There is a school of thought that, if you don’t have something good to say, don’t say anything, however, “Not everything that is faced can be changed, but “nothing” can be changed until it is faced.” James Baldwin. I was trilled about this trip from the first introductory zoom meeting on up to the pre-departure zoom meeting. Meeting fellow travelers at National and JFK airports just increased my anticipation. I paid for the trip well in advance of the final payment, reserved my own flight “at a better price” and appreciated the timely emails about getting our passports and visas. The transport from the Ghana airport to the hotel was flawless. Then the dark cloud began to form. I was annoyed that I had to wait until the couples, families and roommates were assigned to their respective rooms. I call that DISPARATE TREATMENT. The cloud thickened as the wait time increased. The cloud darkened when a significant number of travelers were informed “there are no more rooms at the inn.” Maximum Impact and Sew Creative et.al. knew darn well, there were not enough rooms available, so “they” made the decision to sacrifice the single travelers. Treating us like cattle. Unfed cattle. So we were herded onto two buses, headed to 3 hotels of differing quality and comfort. NOT ACCEPTABLE!!! Adding insult to injury, there was more waiting at the interim hotel, still nothing to eat. We had to sign a form of which I did not agree with the language that would hold me responsible for the bill and indicated that fact on the form in addition to advising the receptionist/night manager. NOT a way to start an international vacation. We had to return to the Lancaster to quickly get something eat and for the briefing/Black & White event. No time to shower and change clothing; But, I tried to be optimist that this was just a glitch and the rest of the trip would be a refreshing, sweet breeze. But, the next bomb dropped was being told that we would NOT BE GOING TO KUMASI AS NOTED IN THE ITINERARY promoting this trip. The bomb following that piece of news was a “flat out” denial of any refund or comparable compensation. We are not fools, we know what things costs and if not, we know how to research. We are owed a refund!!! Doing a bait and switch by dangling prime rib and serving up cube steak. NOOOOO!!!! If I had a crystal ball, I probably would have changed my flight and returned home. Everyday literally was a problem. No need to repeat what has been previously noted, I concur with everything noted in the reviews by Hari S., Angela R., and Toya T. One reviewer described the itinerary as Trash. I feel the itinerary as it was “promoted/advertised” was perfect, just what many of us signed up for, but, the ITINERARY (as promoted)WAS TRASHED without advanced notice to the travelers who signed up for the advertised itinerary. We were not given an OPT OUT / CANCELLATION with FULL REFUND OPTION. Please do not respond back with a comment that we signed up knowing things were subject to change. Change is one thing, deleted is completely different in the world of business. We did not get a round trip overnight flight to Kumasi and back to Accra. We were grossly cheated of what could been a once in a lifetime sewing experience at the Joyce Yeboah Ababio Fashion Institute. That was like an Atomic Bomb for me. I could buy fabric anywhere, even if it cost more but the sewing institute was to be my ” pièce de résistance.” The disappointment has not dissipated. The Ghana support crew, including the bus drivers, were superb. Wendi and Taylor went the extra mile as needed “everyday.” Taylor was like a mama bear protecting her cubs when those of us who did not have a room at the Lancaster was confronted with a bill pay issue at the interim hotel and there was an attempt to hold us captive. I even threatened to call the U.S. Embassy which was a very short distance away. And I would have had Taylor not taken strategic action. That issue should not have arisen! Initial intentions for this excursion was not 100+travelers and apparently it became a bigger bite of an apple than what should have been taken. Perhaps the light of the incoming $$$ was blinding to the point of obliterating good business sense. It is not too late to make some restitution/compensation to everyone on this trip. I feel safe to say that everyone on this trip promote and are supporters of Black Businesses thus was proud to be supporting Maximum Impact Travel and Sew Creative as Black Owned Businesses, especially Sew Creative, a Black Female Owned business. Do right by those who have supported Maximum Impact Travel and Sew Creative….the travelers on this March 19, 2024 to March 27, 2024 trip to Ghana. Respectfully….. April 6, 2024 -Thank you for your prompt response. I stand corrected and with apology for an apparent long-term misunderstanding resulting from a zoom mtg when a person asked about luggage remaining at the host hotel when we traveled to Kumasi. The response as I recall was that our luggage would remain at the host hotel and a small carry-on bag was enough. With regard to Africa World Airline (AWA), I did some research and apparently they have a reputation for cancelling flights with short notice and without alternative flts, in addition to poor customer service. Per the airline, AWA flies the ERJ-145, a small cabin plane with 50 seat capacity, we would have needed a larger plane or more than one plane since the total travelers increased far beyond expectations. However, PassionAir, owned by a Ghanaian, has offices in Ghana with frequent round trip flights to Kumasi, was this airline ever considered, if not, perhaps for future trips. Even though ground transport to Kumasi would have been approx 3.5 hrs one way maybe 4 with bathroom stops, to have set foot on the land of the Ashanti, to me, would have been worth the time spent. My other previous comments remain without amendment. Respectfully

There were many things I enjoyed on the trip and many that were very disappointing. I do not believe anyone knew how large the group was going to be until it was too late to make any changes. We were sold on a group of 40 but ended up with a group of over 100. The entire trip felt rushed and we were not given all of the experiences we paid for. Removing something as large as a flight, village visit and an overnight stay was a major ticket item. There should be a refund or at the very least a credit offered. We were told we would go to factories where fabric was made, but never did. The first fabric store we went to was too small to accommodate 2 teams and I did not get a chance to purchase the fabric I picked out before we had to leave. The bus we were on smelled like mildew and was musty, the air did not cool the entire bus and many of the seats were ripped and therefore uncomfortable. I had to take allergy medicine after our first full day on the buses causing me to miss the next morning’s activity. Our sewing lesson was a disaster which I know was the major reason some of us went. We were often given a time to be in the lobby and then spent up to two hours waiting on the buses which cut into our time on excursions. The hotel was below the standards that most of us expected and many had issues with the rooms. I enjoyed meeting everyone for the first time and the slave river and dungeon tours were very impactful. However, I do not feel I got what was advertised or what I paid for.

The experience of being in Ghana was exciting and very spiritual. However, the primary concern with this trip was that the group was too large! When I registered for the trip I was advised that the group would be limited to 20. Later it was stated that the group would be 40 and the groups would be separated into 20. It was not until late December 2023 that I learned there were approximately 110 people on this trip! The final count of people on the trip was 107! Even though the more than 100 people were separated into 20 to 30 people per group, the activities and events on the itinerary involved all of the groups at the same time. This made the events very difficult to fully appreciate. For example, at the museum tour, it was very difficult to hear the docent and absorb the valuable information being presented. At the Batik class, it was very uncomfortable sitting in plastic chairs with the temperature over 90 degrees and no event or activity planned while groups of 20 or 30 were participating. Due to the large size of the group, washroom breaks were also very hurried and the lines were very long. We were advised one week before the trip that the Kumasi trip was not occur due to flight problems. Unfortunately, this prevented us from seeing the beautiful and historic Kumasi which was something I was very much looking forward to. I feel that I saw very little of Ghana, except the immediate surrounding of the hotel and the dungeons in Cape Coast. Also, although this trip had been planned one year prior to arrival, once we arrived there were approximately 20 people for which the hotel did not have room. The 20 people were the ones who paid the upgraded price for a single room; yet those who paid for double occupancy were registered first. Also, I am informed that some of those who paid for double occupancy were given single rooms. I was among the 20 people who did not receive a room at the Lancaster on the first night and was bused to the Ibis Hotel where there was mold in the showers. Upon returning to the Lancaster, I received a room late in the afternoon. However, my luggage was lost between the transit. My luggage was eventually found on one of the buses. Also, the buffet lunch and dinners were also a disappointment as we did not get to experience any real Ghanian cuisine. Lastly, our group, Cape Coast, did not have a physical representative from Maximum Impact present. We were assigned Regina who was only available through messaging on WhatsApp. There was a clear difference between our group experience and team Accra and Tema which were lead by Wendi and DeShawn. Both of these teams went to restaurants, instead of buffets at local hotels, and had separate shopping trip experiences. This was unacceptable as I paid the same amount and should have received the same service from MIT. I do plan to return to Ghana and other countries in the next few years, but I will not travel with Sew Creative or Maximum Impact Travel.

We had a wonderful trip, great people, great food and amazing experience; and our host Anie and Herbie was so gracious and caring for our every need. VOCO hotel in Johannesburg was outstanding and the location was very nice several options for shopping and eating when on our own , however the Pullman Hotel in Cape Town was much less than outstanding after leaving the VOCO.

The Platinum Experience Johannesburg and Cape Town was simply amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience visiting the historical sites, culturally and the delicious food. We were a group of 15 the Maximum Impact tour guides Anie and Herbie were very accommodating, attentive and kind. They were very special, knowledgeable and nice individuals. I enjoyed all of the tours in Johannesburg and Cape Town even the Safari. I enjoyed meeting some really nice people and developed a life time bond. The living accommodations were very nice. I would highly recommend Maximum Impact Travel and look forward to using them again.

Our trip to Ghana with Maximum Impact was more than we imagined it would be. It was perfect for our 1st trip to Ghana and West Africa. Any initial concerns or worries we had were completely dispelled upon arrival and our first encounter with our tour guide team. Morris and his team, especially Arrine (sp?), were eager to ensure our comfort, and met us each day with friendly, dedicated service. Our itinerary was well planned, and it seems, we visited all the top sites. Our hotels and the restaurants were top tier, well appointed, and offered impressive service. Our trip was perfect! Ervin J and I highly recommend this trip. We look forward to traveling with Maximum Impact again in the future.

We had a great time. Wonderful people, delicious food and comfortable accommodations. Thank you for a fantastic experience. My only complaint is visa application support and assistance should be provided. We had an epic challenge with the embassy during our visa application process and upon contacting Maximum Impact Travel, they were responsive but unable to provide any support or assistance with our visa issues. This trip exceeded my expectations. We were well looked after by the local tour company from the moment we arrived at the Cairo airport. The accommodations were excellent and well-appointed. I was impressed by the warmth and hospitality we received everywhere we went. Our tour guide, Prince, was outstanding. A true gentleman and a scholar, he was exceptionally knowledgeable about the sites we visited and went above and beyond for our group. As a woman traveling solo, I felt very safe. I absolutely recommend Maximum Impact and plan on returning in 2026.

Thank you for the opportunity.

I chose Egypt with Maximum Impact for my 50th birthday and I would say that it exceeded my expectation. From the information provided with Eunice, and Di Sean, to our tour guide Prince, to our uber Amgd, everything was white glove smooth. In full transparency, this was my second experience with Maximum Impact and it did not disappoint. My first time was to Ghana, the gateway; and I would share that where as Ghana is more about the true experience of the Enslavement, Egypt was more about the genesis of civilization. Prince did an amazing job of teaching, guiding, supporting, and ensuring safety with our group (although there was no hint of any conflict occurring). For this to be an honest review, the only suggestion I would make is to be more forthright with the tipping culture in Egypt. I understand and respect that it is how their economy is built however anyone going on this trip should go fully aware of what to expect. Also, Abu Simbel being offered but not scheduled was sort of a let down but Nubia more than made up for it. Otherwise, like I said this trip exceeded my expectations and I once again learned SO MUCH. This was an amazing experience! Our South African trip guide, Mr. Prinsloo, was amazing. The group facilitator, Simone, was also great. The locations we visited, the amount of free time provided, and in-country organization of transportation were all perfect. The hotel in Jo’burg was perfect. The one criticism is that the hotel in Cape Town wasn’t the best and I’d suggest looking into alternative locations for future travel there. Otherwise, it was a five-star experience!

Words don’t suffice. I am so grateful to have been able to take part in this experience. I have been to parts of the continent before, to include West Africa, but the focus of this group in sharing crucial information, history and perspective for the participants to not only see but also share, was the true differentiator. Excellent guides, great food, very comfortable accommodations, but the true value was in being with a group of people also eager and hungry for truth and guides that never tired of providing us with it. Thank you!

From start to finish, the group and I were taken care of—individually and as a group. From handling our luggage to always having cold bottled water on hand, they were high-touch and professional. Our guide, “Maurice”, was attentive, knowledgeable, clear, proactive, and personable. Our driver and his assistant were skilled in handling that coach bus in every space we traveled (and he proactively went beyond the call of duty to make sure I myself got to my departing flight at 4am in the morning!). “Pricilla”, our guide’s assistant, was always present and helpful. “Renita” kept us up to date with the following day’s itinerary so that we’d know where to be, when to be there, and what we were doing and for about how long. “Emmanuel”, the photographer, was proactive and always in the right place at the right time. He also integrated well in our group. The Lancaster Hotel was clean, comfortable, and quite accommodating; and the food and service their were outstanding. The group of travelers were wonderful company. Everyone got along and had fun! Every aspect of the trip was well organized and memorable. I never felt “out on my own”. Lord willing, I will definitely spend the money and travel with Maximum Impact again.

We had a great time. Prince was absolutely fantanstic. Amgd was great also. I thought a representative from Maximum Impact would be present on the trip. That was a disappointment; there are opportunities missed for strenthening the Maximum Impact brand and business model that are missed due to the absence of a company rep. on the trip. Also, perhaps consider dialing down the activity on one or two of the days a little to allow more rest in between high activity/travel days. Just for your consideration. Overall, it was a good experience and a trip I will never forget.

As I come out of my house to pick up my morning paper, I hear a crow calling and it immediately takes me back to the other side of the world of Zanzibar, Africa; picturing the lions, zebras, monkeys, wildebeest, giraffes, elephants, and the many other creatures of east Africa that I will never forget implanted forever in my mind. That was the real cost of this safari. My body after weeks of returning is still trying to reset itself, and I love it. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you to the Maximum Empact Group! -DLS Another impactful Motherland experience from Jay and the Maximum Impact Group! I can say my dream and bucket list of an African Safari with Ali and the rest has been fulfilled and one for the books! The group (10 of us) gelled well together and were the best! The experience of the roads, dust, animals, hot air ballon ride over the Serengeti, Maasai Village experience and the beautiful Indian Ocean and beaches in Zanzibar was amazing. Thanks for living up to the “Maximum Impact Experience” that you offered and fulfilled AGAIN!!! Truly Amazing…. We all gained a new network of friends and grew into one happy family. The team from start to finish was amazing. They provided a high level of customer service and subject matter expert and experience on topics. Me personally could have used 2 free days at the end, LOL. But I am grateful for the full agenda. This was an absolutely amazing experience. My first time in Tanzania and I was able to visit the Serengeti and the Ngorongo crater and see the Big 5 in their natural habitat doing what they do. If that wasn’t enough the activities took us to Zanzibar for even more fun in the sun. I had a wonderful time from start to finish. Making plans for my next trip as I’m typing this review. One of the best trips yet. The East African adventure was full of amazing situations like meeting the Massai people and getting to participate in their jumping dance. In addition to looking a huge lion in the eye as he strutted in front of us, sleeping in a tent at night and experiencing the night sounds of the animals in the wild, and being serenaded by the staff at the airport lodge hotel on our last night in Tanzania are memories I won’t soon forget. Also, having Anitha for our host was one of the best decisions Maximum Impact has made. She is a keeper!!!

This was our second trip with Maximum Impact Travel. My husband & I had an AMAZING time, life changing. It was a 5 start trip. We hit all the tourist spots, had some down time to shop & we went to some GREAT restaurants. Everything ran smoothly & the group became like family. We were also able to visit a shanty town (not normally visited) because Jay had connections. I would definitely recommend this company & book again.

Jay and Maximum Impact did a fantastic job curating a totally memorable trip. From the upscale restaurants with jazz, the interactive african drum session, the elegant vineyard visits for wine tasting, (my favorite was the sparkling wine paring with french white chocolate), the scenery, the great hotel locations in just the right areas, to a personal visit to a Soweto informal settlement, each day brought a new and enlightened experience. In addition to the multitude of activities, (to many to mention here), Jay enlisted celebrated experts in different fields to enhance our immersion into the culture. So many captivating activities it’s hard to list them all. It’s clear a lot of thought and care went into organizing this tour. I was delighted to benefit from his exacting efforts. Looking forward to my next Maximum Impact Travel adventure!

Our experience with Maximum Impact (Jay Cameron) exceeded our expectations. This was our first tour with Jay and it will not be the last. Everyday was planned to perfection. Filled with heart moving experiences along with unique and creative culinary treasures . Everything was designed to educate and spoil us with new knowledge, adventures and restaurants in the African culture. An example of one day experience, we visited the vibrant and historic Soweto Township in Johannesburg and all it had to offer. From driving through the neighborhood as our tour Guide Herby, shared his knowledge and the history of this town. He answered our questions and gave us different perspectives to understand the resilience of the African experience. We visited the Orlando Towers, a church(Regina Mundi Catholic Church) Michelle Obama visited to see where the South African police shot into to scare defenseless students. These students were apart of the riots that took place in Soweto on June 16, 1976. We visited the memorial museum “Hector Pieterson” . This museum is dedicated to display how Hector Pieterson was killed and the uprising that followed which resulted with over 600 students being killed as a result of police violence. We visited Vilakazi street where Nelson and Minnie Mandela family resided. The only street in the world where 2 Noble Peace Prize winners once lived. (Bishop Desmond Mpilo Tutu) We also enjoyed a delicious native lunch at a local restaurant (1947). We were offered many local dishes and had the opportunity to try then all. Lastly, we were invited to visit a local informal settlement. We participated in a guided walking tour in the settlement. We were invited into homes, preschools and passing out candy and snacks to the beautiful children. This was just 1 day of the tour. We also experienced a safari, vineyards with wine tasting, Robben Island in Capetown, Table Mountain, and so much more… Jay we truly “Thank you” for your journey to enlightening Black Americans about their homeland. We can highly recommend this tour company. This experience was of great value for the exposure! We definitely will be sharing our experiences with everyone. We can conclude by stating , “See Africa for yourself. It will change your Life! Come to Africa to learn and see the Truth about who we are and where we come from” Our family in Africa loves us!

You know sometimes when someone does a really good thing, saying thank you doesn’t feel like enough. That’s what I feel right now about my latest experience with Jay and Maximum Impact Travel. Going to Ghana was amazing as my first trip to Africa, well experiencing South Africa was NEXT LEVEL. Jay’s personal experience with visiting each country beforehand, allows him to curate the best possible tours. They are educational, fun, spiritual and life transforming experiences, that we can take back with us to our families and friends in the hopes of changing their perspectives regarding Africa. Maybe just, maybe they’ll want to “see for themselves.” Thanks Jay for your courage to step out and step into your passion and purpose. I look forward to many more adventures/tours with Maximum Impact Travel and you. Yolanda (Auntie) Marks

This is an exciting trip and it exceeded my expectations. The “Platinum Experience South Africa” is exactly that, a platinum experience. If you go, be prepared to get the full benefit of the cost of the trip. I highly recommended it! The itinerary for this trip was wonderful! This is more than a cultural tour of Africa or a Safari expedition but a trip that showcases the varied experiences one can have on The Continent. A perfect blend of recreation, culture, cuisine, community, content, and entertainment. Leisure and adventure travel at their best! The Maximum Impact Travel team was brilliant at organizing us, keeping us safe, and knowledgeable about all the areas we visited, and accommodations were top-notch. The entire tour was busy–in a good way. We were given great introductions to the cultural, social, and political realities that exist in both Johannesburg (Jo’burg) and Cape Town. First Jo’Burg: From touring Soweto Township, Mandela’s House, the Hector Pieterson Museum, the Apartheid Museum and to the Regina Mundi Church, Herbie, Maximum Impact’s local Guide, did a splendid job educating and explaining the fascinating and tragic history of life during Apartheid and today. We learned that Soweto was not one but multiple townships together with an overall population of about 3 to 4 million people. We were able to see the distinct contrasts within these townships, from the poor shanties to the mini-mansions, from motorbikes to Mercedes. I was amazed to witness for myself how things have changed over time. Herbie also told us that today, Soweto is very much a neighborhood where people look out for each other despite the painful and poignant reminders of Apartheid. If you are old enough to remember watching events unfold in SA over 30 years ago as I was in the USA, this visit puts things into context. After Jo’Burg, we traveled to Cape Town. Beautiful Cape Town offered so many amazing things to see and do. We first set sail for Robben Island. And again, I was able to witness and see with my own eyes the prison island where Nelson Mandela spent 18 of his 27 years of imprisonment. It was riveting. The V&A Waterfront had beautiful street art all around and at every turn; the hiking and parasailing around Table Mountain; the Safari Drive in Kruger Park in search of the BIG FIVE; a stop at the Cape of Good Hope on our way to see, again with my own eyes, where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Indian Ocean. The amazing and exciting experiences that offered hiking, wildlife viewing, fine dining (in black-owned restaurants) where every single meal was delicious and a foodie’s delight. Plus, there was fun entertainment from interactive drumming to listening to jazz music. We did all that, and so much more. Did I mention shopping? It was off-the-hook and inexpensive. I haven’t even mentioned a major highlight of the trip, the wine tour through South Africa’s Stellenbosch wine region, with Tuanni, Wine Educator and Sommelier extraordinaire. She is an Ex-pat from California living in South Africa. Tuanni was extremely knowledgeable and personable and made the experience a delight. The wine tasting and yummy charcuterie was at its best. This is the third Maximum Impact Travel tour I have been on, and it was fantastic. I would say that if you are looking for a vacation of leisure, entertainment, learning, and sharing experiences with others, this is it. Bring your teens along (they’ll love it), an empty carry-on for items you’ll buy and a light jacket if you go in September, it gets cool at night, and enjoy South Africa. You’ll have a great time.

Returning back from South Africa a couple of days ago. This is my second trip with Maximum Impact. Most importantly, the people within my group are repeat customers with Maximum Impact Travel. They treat you like family. Had an amazing time touring JoBurg and Cape Town. You will experience both entertainment and education knowledge on this trip. You will definitely gain new family members with your group. Maximum Impact Travel is connecting the dots and correcting some inaccuracies in our educational system here in the United States. The food selections are awesome. You will have the opportunities to select both local foods and America food. You will definitely get your money worth and experience an excellent time in Africa with Maximum Impact Travel. You will not be disappointed. Next year (2024) will be trip number three with them.

Just returned from my 3rd trip to the continent with Maximum Impact travel. Once again the experience was impeccable. Maximum Impact always provides luxury accommodations and experiences. It was so much fun and also very educational, I learned things about South Africa I never knew. I can honestly say traveling with Maximum Impact has become addictive. I’m ready to book my next adventure. Once you travel with Maximum Impact, you become a family. I have met so many wonderful people forming friendships that will last a lifetime. I will travel the world with Maximum Impact and I would encourage everyone to do the same, it will impact your life and you will not be disappointed. Delores This was my third trip with Maximum Impact Travel with Mr Jay. They have all been a great experience for me, but mostly it has introduced me to a new group of people who are like family. Thank you Jay for putting us together as a group and a family. It’s a journey everyone should experience for themselves only with Maximum Impact Travel, the best. Tyrone (TBS)

This trip was hands down the best experience I’ve had while vacationing. I was able to learn, have fun and enjoy the company of like minded individuals from varying walks of life. Everything ran smoothly and felt effortless. I appreciate the attention to detail from the hotels to the dinners and excursions. It felt like the trip was curated just for me. Traveling with Maximum Impact not only made me want to start plans for the next trip, but also invite others as well as curious as to how this this organization came about. Without question, I would recommend this trip to anyone interested as it is more than worth it.

This was a second time to Ghana. I did notice changes in the area. New construction in various areas. Accommodations and food was top notch. People were very friendly and pleasant. I feel very comfortable there. I continue to be amazed at the creativity of the product sellers. The “magic bag” gift was a big hit with my friends. Yes. I do expect to visit other places on the continent.

I had a wonderful time on my trip to Ghana and finally got a chance to meet the women from my Saturday Morning Ironing group in person. What a wonderful group of women of God. We had the best and knowledgeable guides who educated us on not only the history of Ghana but how and why our ancestors were affected and treated during their capture. The trip to Slave River and The Door of No Return for me was a life altering experience. I truly felt the spirit of the souls of my ancestors. I know I was standing on Holy Ground. I will never forget that experience or how I felt. I’m grateful for the opportunity to have had the right travel agency to see Ghana. The experience was a real educational, spiritual and emotional journey. I will definitely recommend it to others.

Ok, I know my review is late, however it’s here. Going to Ghana was a life changing experience. Your eyes will open to the beauty of the country and the people. The people are very friendly and kind. The knowledge you learn of our people is abundant. So much, that a second, maybe a third trip would be needed. The food has some western and local flavors. Watching our people being busy working for themselves is heartwarming. If you’re thinking about going, do yourself a favor and go. Maximum Impact / Urban Intellectuals will handle everything for you.

My son and I had a wonderful experience and time. This was one of the best experiences I’ve had. We met some nice people and enjoyed all the accommodations we had. The two-day safari was awesome right down to the Lion pride going through our campsite. How exciting. And, and Zanzibar is the place to go for relaxation. The Indian Ocean is breathtaking. We had a surprise yacht ride that was off the chain. We partied like 1999. Go, Go, go. Make plans to go today.

This was my second trip that I’ve made with maximum impact travel. The organization of this trip was top notch. The staff that was assigned to be with the group was the best. They took the time to meet our needs. To travel to Ghana was an emotional experience that I will never forget. Thank you Jay Cameron and everyone that was connected to a very successful trip home. Everyone , in your life time , you need to make the journey home, that you will understand our true history.

This was truly a great experience. Personally the highlight of the tour was the naming ceremony in Kumasi, Ghana. The people I’ve met in my group are like family & we’ll always have a special bonf. Jay’s tour guide Paul & his assistants are the cream of the crop. Maximum Impact Travel organization customer service is simply great. I will definitely book another experience with Maximum Impact Travel in the near future. Tony G Hammond aka Kwabena Agyei

Incredible experience. Still taking it all in, as amazing is probably an understatement. Hard to describe the non stop adventures, surprises and education. The professional and skilled travel and tour teams brought heaven to earth allowing me to relax and enjoy a top tier view of E. Africa. Chills … and the beauty of the people and land. So glad I said yes to this life changing trip. A Legacy Builder.

This trip was one of my BEST TRIPS EVER!! This group travel with Maximum Impact Travel with was well organized with scheduled events including transportation, accommodations, and the freshest variety of delicious foods. My most memorable moments were: visiting a Maasai Village and learning about their family life, spending two nights in the Serengeti National Park and seeing beautiful African wildlife in their natural habitat, visiting Zanzibar with educational tours to Stonetown and their past slave trade sites, visiting a spice farm, observing Redback monkeys eating all around our feet with their young attached, the boat trip to Prison Island to see the giant tortoises, and bonding with our lead guide, Sis. Anithia who made sure our every need and desire was met with a heart to please. As a retired educator and lifelong student, I was able to ask many, many questions of Bro. Abdul and Bro. Yusuf to get an idea of the history, lifestyle and culture of the people of Tanzania/Zanzibar. Also, I cannot leave out how our group bonded throughout the trip and partied down on a relaxing boat excursion off the coast of Zanzibar. Thank you Jay Cameron and all the staff for an unforgettable lifetime trip to Tanzania/ Zanzibar. I look forward to my next trip with you to discover more about the history, culture, and beauty of the people of Africa. Forever grateful!!…Sakile Flowers

My 13-year old son and I had a phenomenal time in Tanzania and Zanzibar! We were not ready to leave when the trip was as over. This trip exposed us to rich African culture, delectable food, informative guides and historians, an epic Safari, the incomparable Maasai experience, a luxurious boat ride, poignant tours and revelations about enslavement and who were where as a people long before those days. Not to mention the pure joy of traveling with the most brilliant, kind, compassionate, hilarious group imaginable. We began the trip as strangers, but ended as family. The entire experience was Black excellence personified. No detail was left unattended to. The level of organization and high quality excursions, accommodations and meals offered by Maximum Impact Travel and Jay Cameron are simply unparalleled. I have found my travel team for life and am thrilled that my son and I were able to share this life-changing experience together. We are already gearing up for our next trip. Oh yes…there will be more! Thank you Maximum Impact Travel for showing us the true beauty and brilliance of Africa!

Maximum Impact Travel did a phenomenal job putting together the perfect blend of fun, culture, awesome black history tours and relaxation. Jay secured the best local team who took care of our needs every step of the way. Anitha, Ali and Abdul are very knowledgeable and made sure we were comfortable and safe! This was a trip of a lifetime! Out of all the places I have ever visited Tanzania ranks #1. MIT, made sure of that. First of all, it was great to be in the company of like minded and looking travelers. I enjoyed the sights and Prince did great on educating us. The evening In Nubian Village was awesome. On another note., felt steered towards certain businesses; no opportunities to shop around. Secondly, we should have been informed that we need to bring a band for tipping. To improve service inform your customers. I don’t mind tipping when it is appropriate however I don’t think I should give you six dollars to use the bathroom after I have paid for admission. I never seen so much palm greasing . I guess that part of African Culture . Anyway overall it was a good experience and I would recommend you to others

How would I describe this trip… life changing! As I write this review, I am still processing all that I experienced April 27th – May 5th. Immediately upon touchdown at JFK, my spirit became heavy. I felt drained, tired, and saddened because I no longer felt like I was home. The place I had called home all 40 years of my life was no longer. The seeds sown during this trip were not planned. The connections and reunion of mind , body and spirit was unknown. I felt like this trip was a family reunion. I had no idea that I could feel this way about a place I had never been to! I am fully aware of divine intervention. This trip, at this time, was for ME! I was welcomed from day one upon arrival and treated like family throughout my stay! Everyone always greeted me with a “welcome home, my sister”! How dope is that? Everywhere I looked, I saw black excellence, I saw my history, I felt my ancestors speaking clearly! If you do nothing else for yourself…take this trip! For you, your children, and your children’s children. Reconnect with the spirit that lives within you! Maximum Impact strategically designed this trip in consideration of you! Your host and staff, whomever they may be has been hand selected! (Shouts out to host Morris..the most animated, intellectual, and engaging host/uncle I ever met)! I will forever be impacted. I celebrated my 41st birthday during this experience, and now I feel like nothing will ever be as empowering! I’ve said enough.. final thoughts… book the trip! Periodt!

What a wonderful experience. Someone asked me what my favorite part of the trip was and I must say I am still trying to decide because I simply loved it all. I can honestly say the worst part was having to say goodbye. Thank you Maximum Impact for giving me and my family the best introduction to Africa we could ask for. And thank you Ghana for leaving a lasting impression we will carry with us for a lifetime. I truly loved every minute there.

We rate this trip a 10. It was a dream come true, a passion to visit the motherland. The Maximum Impact team was outstanding from the beginning to the end of the trip. We were cared for and informed on every aspect of the day. The trip included all of the historical sites and places of importance. The choices of restaurants were exceptional allowing us to see and taste the foods of the continent. Jay was available for gatherings and conversations which was an extra bonus. The people we met on our tour were a wonderful group; we became family instantly caring for each other. If you have any reservations about traveling abroad, check out Maximum Impact. You won’t be disappointed. The feeling of being in Ghana has been an emotional one, knowing the history, visiting the dungeons, being with the people, seeing the possibilities and just realizing that we are the orginal people and we have endured so much and continue to strive in this world. We must be proud of our rich history and share it with others that are not aware. For if you know who you are and where you come from, you will walk proudly with a different mindset. I give praise and honor to Jay Cameron for having the vision for this tour and doing it with professionalism. We plan to join you again on another adventure. Grace & Blessings on your path. The Rays

Our recent tour to Ghana with Maximum Impact was our first to Africa and has been our most rewarding and impactful tour, to date: mainly because it far exceeded our expectations in its organization and delivery that afforded us a safe and fun filled educational experience in Ghana, its rich culture, delicious food and very friendly people. We were very impressed with the number of stops included in the tour within Accra and across Central Ghana how well it was organized and meticulously sequenced over an 8-day period. That arrangement allowed us to absorb interesting information and manage our emotions as we viewed the country’s amazing landscapes, ate mouthwatering food at carefully selected restaurants and visited the villages and historical sites, such as the Slave River, Slave Dungeons, Independence Park, Botanical Gardens, W.E.Dubois Centre, Ashanti Palace Museum, the cocoa farm and the textile tanning and weaving centers, to name a few. Hats off to Jay and his friendly professional staff of Maximum Impact for providing my wife and I along with our touring family, a very memorable and totally satisfying experience. We are definitely looking forward to our next tour with Maximum Impact Earl and Sonia

Ghana is Great! And Maximum Impact Tours is a great way to experience this greatness, especially for first timers to the continent. The trip was very well planned in that the hotels were 5 star and the tour guides were very knowledgeable and accommodating to our every need. The eight days were very fulfilling in that we visited a number of sites that give significant history of Ghana. I am especially appreciative of the visit to Kumasi which included a naming ceremony. Jay Cameron has outdone himself. Thank you for a wonderful time. Elaine Terry

I had an extremely enjoyable trip. I overcame the concern I had for my age and health issues. Loved the accommodations. The group team as well as the behind the scene crew did a marvelous job. We got the chance to see and learn the truth about our history and the flavors of food that come from our ancestors. It was enlightening to see the entrepreneurship of our people in action. Thank you so much to my niece Charlesetta De Leo for encouraging me to go. Thank you Jay for the opportunity.

I am a white, middle-aged woman who works with African American youth. My son is in a mixed-race marriage. I am blessed with two wonderful grandchildren and a welcoming extended family. I wanted to gain a deeper understanding of the people I love so much from a historical perspective. This trip exceeded my expectations. It was a perfect blend of S. African history combined with South Africa today, including jaw-dropping scenery, memorable food and entertainment, and time spent with the elephants and other animals in their own habitat. My traveling companions have become lifelong friends. And did I mention the shopping? I look forward to sharing many years of life experiences with them, including more travels! It was a gift to talk about what we just saw or learned from different perspectives and then pick it up later, after some time to reflect while enjoying a 5 Star meal at a stunning restaurant. The guides were phenomenal, our accommodations were exceptional, and Jay Cameron, our host, knew what we wanted before we even did. What’s not to love?

I had a great time in South Africa, Jay was the perfect host. The food, entertainment and lodging were top notch. South Africa is such an aesthetically beautiful place, a must see. On the other hand, seeing the way Mandela and other innocent people were incarcerated and treated made me feel some kind of way. And the fact that so many natives continue to live in less than desirable conditions today in such a rich country is just criminal…

WHAT A LIFE-CHANGING EXPERIENCE! Amazing. This was my first international trip ever! I was anxious before leaving, but I give a significant shout-out to Jay Cameron and the Maximum Impact/Urban Intellect team. They take away all the pressures and fear you may carry. If you haven’t traveled internationally, this is the route you want. I promise you. Please don’t do it alone. Also, the group of women, we called ourselves the magnificent 12. We plan every year as a group to go to different countries under Maximum Impact/Urban Intelects. 10 STARS! 20 Stars! 50 Stars! Best experience to date!

Marie Edith Ganthier and Marjory Price were so impressed with this trip we had a difficult time returning home to the U.S. As soon as we arrived at the airport in Jo’burg we had a driver holding a sign with our names on it waiting to take us to the hotel in Jo’burg. The accommodations at the hotels in Jo’burg and Cape Town were fabulous! The sightseeing places with knowledgeable guides enhanced our experience tremendously. And last but not least were the meals at five star restaurants, delicious and picture worthy presentations. Thank you Jay Cameron and our group the magnificent twelve for the experience of a lifetime. Our lives will forever be blessed because of you!

It was well organized: Easy payment plan, pre-informational zoom meetings, five star hotels, delicious food at quality restaurants, the places we visited were impactful, informative, exciting, and “must sees!” For example, Robben Island, Table Mountain, Golds Restaurant, etc! We are sold on staying connected with Maximum Impact for the rest of our lives with an annual trip planned with them and spreading the word, encouraging others to journey with us, Thanks Jay! Thanks Freddie! Thanks to the wonderful friends I met on our journey! Let’s continue to live our BEST life during our GOLDEN YEARS! We deserve it!! Nothing but the best????????????❤️

Signing up as a single individual, not knowing what to expect on the trip – it was not a trip but an adventure of a lifetime! What a wonderful way to begin the celebration of Black History Month with going to the Mother Land. Bonding, creating new friendships with wonderful like-minded people, sharing not only just viewing the ancient past, but having an Egyptologist to guide and provide validation, wonder and clarification to so much history! From the usual tourist stops to navigating the everyday life of the people in Luxor and Nubia, cruising the Nile; will always be cherished memories and awe for me. An experience I will always treasure and will share my knowledge with friends and family here in the States every chance I get. Whether you are 9 or 90, put it on your bucket list to take the “experience” with Urban Intellectuals- Egypt Experience Cairo, Luxor, Nile!

I came to Egypt as an individual seeking a once in a lifetime vacation. During those nine days, I experienced great food, amazing excursions , information and culture like I have never dreamed. The caliber of people that decided or shall I say were destined to be with me have made my life richer for getting to know them. Like I said I came as individual but left with family. Thank you Freddie, Krystal and Jay I’m already planning my next trip with you guys

Feb 19, 2023
The idea of the trip was amazing. Being a part of it was so much better. I definitely made new friends for a lifetime. The Egyptologist, Prince, was above expectations. All of the excursions were unbelievable but the best were spent in Aswan Nubian villages. Jay, Freddie and Prince were very quick to rectify situations that arose and make plan changes so that we all had great experiences. There are some areas for improvement on upcoming trips: 1. A formal itinerary MUST be sent. It became clear that Lina does not know this and could not provide the details of the trip. what was provided was the same general description that is given for all the Egypt trips, nothing specific to the current trip. An issue that should be addressed on the itinerary is that the hotel booking was NOT done via Urban intellectuals. The rooms were held under Memphis Tours which was never communicated. so when I was checking in, I argued at the desk giving Freddie and Jay’s names only to have been proven completely wrong later. 2. my hotel booking data was incomplete. I had to call and ask for the exact name and address of the hotel. I needed to add on nights but was never given the direct contact info for the hotel. I was given a 1-800 number that would never connect me directly to the hotel (vs +202 333 69700) to add a night. Thus, I ended up spending almost 8 hours in the hotel lobby on a couch until a room became available. To be clear, Jay told us on the webinar we had to arrange for additional nights. my problem is that the direct phone number and hotel address were not provided. this should have been provided within a detailed itinerary. Or, I could have been given the contact info for Memphis Tours since the rooms were actually reserved under their name, not Urban Intellectuals. 3. The pre-trip webinar was misleading in regards to how much money we would need for tips. Jay was careful to explain the need for tipping were given a specific dollar amount to plan for Mostafa and Prince but no guideline for all of the tuk tuk drivers, bus drivers, security, restaurants, etc. 4. Getting money in Egyptian pounds vs US dollars was unclear. we should be told an estimate of how many pounds and how many US dollars to have available in cash. Meaning how much should get converted at the exchange banks. 5. For the ATV ride, we need to have sunglasses, scarf and gloves. This should be told so we can pack appropriately or make sure they are provided by the ATV company. The scarf is necessary because of all the feces and sand that was kicked up by the nearby horses. 6. I loved climbing inside the Great Pyramid. I was fortunate to have worn layers that I peeled off. It was so hot inside, we were drenched. Would be nice to give advanced warning so that layers can be worn and/or change of clothes can be brought on the bus. All that aside, I would still highly recommend to all my friends and family to take a tour with Urban Intellectuals/Maximum Impact Travel, without reservations. And i’m looking forward to the return trip so I can get my hot air balloon ride!

The trip to Egypt was a once in a lifetime experience focused on the ancient history of Egypt in Cairo, Luxor and Aswan. It is not at all a white beach vacation experience but it is an experience that will absolutely increase your knowledge and awareness of history. The Egyptian History Guide , Prince, is the linchpin of the entire experience. The UI business partners, Freddie and Jay , are passionate about their mission and they are devoted to making your travel experience a success.

Wow! Where should I begin? This was the trip of a lifetime -so far- because wherever Urban Intellectuals goes, I’m going too! I traveled alone, knew no one and had some drama with the airline and my luggage, then the earthquake in Turkey as I traveled Turkish Air. Every second of every day I felt safe, seen and heard. The accommodations were five-star, the food was excellent with all dietary requirements pleasantly provided. So, this was an experience not a trip. Our tour guide, Prince, was intentional in his teaching, making significant connections to the overlooked contributions of Africans to Egyptian history, culture and society. His fidelity in acquiring this knowledge was evident at all times. In addition, Prince exposed us to Nubian people, food and culture that few trips would. Moustafa, our logistical guru, moved us through the airport as if he owned it. Buses were top notch, and he made magic for me personally, tracking down my luggage (missing for 3 days!) and getting it to me right before our 4:30am flight to Luxor. Never was there a tense moment among any of us. Our travel group made lifelong friendships for sure. All of us immediately felt like we were family, that we were with family; that we had come home. It became quite an emotional experience. None of this happened on its own though. Jay Cameron, Maximum Impact, and Freddie Taylor, Urban Intellectuals, combined their expertise and Freddie’s vision to make this possible. All praise goes to them. Having Freddie with us and his wonderful gorgeous wife along only enhanced the wisdom we gained. I could go on and on. The bottom line is this: if you want to travel Africa do not hesitate one moment. Go with Urban Intellectuals. You will never regret it. Take everyone you know. You will never be cared for better or learn more than with them. I promise.

I had an amazing (10/10) experience in Egypt with this group. The organization of the trip exceeded my expectations and I enjoyed how much knowledge I was able to gain after being there. I have came back home with everyone asking, “Why Egypt?”, or, “Egypt is so random to go to; what’s in Egypt?”, and my response has been, “It was everything and more”. Thank you to Jay Cameron and all the other organizers for making this such a great learning opportunity to not only see our roots, but also dwell amongst them. If you do not go anywhere else, Egypt needs to be placed as top priority of your bucket list! P.s. Our tour group specifically was Maximum Impact’s all-time favorite ????????

The trip to Kemet was PHENOMENAL! I thoroughly enjoyed meeting & bonding with all whom we traveled. The knowledge gained and the experience was life-changing. However, I am extremely disappointed with the overall expense of this trip!!!!!!! I am extremely upset & disappointed with how my travel mate & I were charged an astronomical fee to update the name on the booking at the eleventh hour even though I first communicated the change in travel companion during the May 31, 2022, zoom informational meeting. I added her as a guest/additional person to my booking in June 2022 in the “We Travel” tool as well as changed from a King bed to two Doubles, which now appears to have gone nowhere. I submitted all documents (travel insurance purchased June 1, 2022 flights purchased Aug 21, 2022, etc.) which listed the new companion’s name. Obviously there was a breakdown in communication. Was there anyone tasked with reviewing the actual content in the system? I made all required payments on time (via auto-pay) and never received notice that the name wasn’t changed. I happened to notice that correspondence was still being sent to my original companion instead of my new companion so I went into the We Travel tool once again on Oct 29, 2022 and removed my original companion by updating the fields with my new companion. I thought all along that everything was fine until I received an email on Nov 10, 2022 stating that I could not change my travel companion and that she could not travel. This was three days before our scheduled departure! IF THE CHANGE WAS NOT ALLOWED, THEN THE SYSTEM SHOULDN’T HAVE ALLOWED ME TO MAKE THE UPDATE!!! I immediately placed an international call to the person who sent the email. After multiple calls & emails I was charged $570 plus fees on Nov 11, 2022 to cover the name change (which still didn’t seem to get shared because during roll calls during the trip they were still looking for my original travel companion). This fee on top of the over $8200 plus fees for the trip then the $245 for excursions which seemed to actually be covered in the local booking company’s package (we discovered this fact by chatting with the other travel groups cruising the Nile with us then confirming via their website). We began to ask questions after the camel ride that we paid extra for but everybody got to take without any type of list being verified), Had we booked with the local tour company, we would have paid a third of what we spent. I am extremely disheartened by learning this info. We were all set to book our Ghana trip through you guys at breakfast on Nov 22, 2022, UNTIL we discovered the incredibly lower price of booking through the local company. My hard-earned dollars will go so much further in my future trips. My trust has been broken which also breaks my heart because I feel like I’ve been taken advantage of by family. Sincerely, KimLeMay Woodfork-Moore trip to Kemet was PHENOMENAL! I don’t even know where to begin besides stating simply that this trip… was EVERYTHING! I literally have been telling everyone about my incredible experience. From the beginning to the end, this was an unbelievable experience. My travel crew and I literally only had to show up. Everything else was taken care of for us. Literally, every detail was taken care of from top to bottom. Our group leader Jay always made sure that we were kept in the loop with every part of the trip. He made sure to prepare us before we even arrived. I loved the fact that we had videos and calls leading up to the trip that prepared us fully even down to what to pack and what the weather would be like! Once we arrived we were greeted so warmly by Mohammed and assured that we were in great hands. Our tour guide, Tarek was beyond knowledgeable on everything! The amount of history he was able to impart upon us was astonishing and his passion for it showed. Our entire trip was filled with so many adventures, learning opportunities and remarkable experiences. When I speak to others who have traveled to Egypt before and share my experience, they are astonished at how much I did comparatively in mine and have shared that hearing about my experience has made them want to come back with Urban Intellectuals. Every day was literally a new adventure and no two days were ever the same. Lastly, we started out as strangers with the rest of the group but quickly became family. This was indeed something so special and beautiful because if not for Urban Intellectuals we would have never been connected to so many people from so many different places and walks of life. Although I am physically back in the States my spirit is back in Egypt! I can’t wait until my next trip with Urban Intellectuals and I’m already signed up for Ghana! Thank you to the entire team for a truly unforgettable experience!

With saturated senses, we left the Land of the Blacks with a soul deep knowing that we are ancient, before the before. Our brilliance, etched in stone, still sparkles among the stars painted across the celestial temples. Energized by the golden rays of Ra, dormant DNA awakened, rolled over, and rejoiced in gratitude.

This trip celebrated milestone birthdays for my Mom (90) and Grandson (21). It was everything I’d hoped for. I concur with the reviews of my fellow travelers regarding the itinerary, therefore, I will devote my entire review to the 1st class customer service by Jay and his crew in Ghana. My physical health changed over the summer and I now use a rollator walker and wheelchair. My luggage made it on to the shuttle, however, my mobility aids were left on my driveway! On Sunday, when I realized we’d need more than the canes, Jay and Morris had already sourced wheelchairs for pick up on Monday morning. Throughout the whole trip, Jay’s crew, both staff and contractors, assisted my Mom and me; this enabled my Grandson to experience and enjoy the full breadth of the itinerary. Jay also made adjustments to the itinerary based on requests; as a result we attended opening night of Wakanda Forever; we revisited the arts center; and got a boutique to open their doors on a Sunday morning just for us. We ended up having an extra day in Ghana, courtesy of Delta Airlines. I asked Morris for the name of a bookstore, to my surprise, he offered to accompany me. He spent all day Monday with us from noon until we passed through the security checkpoint. This was my first land tour. I am used to traveling independently; or jazz cruising. I will definately travel with Urban Intellectuals and Maximum Impact again. Thank you! The Nelsons Ms. Betty, Alycee, and Lance

I had a fantastic experience in Egypt. I was traveling by myself but never felt alone. I did know anyone when I started. That quickly changed for the better. Everyone was wonderful. The accommodations though out the trip was very clean and comfortable. Plenty of and a variety food. All the logistics were on point. And most importantly I had a chance to see for myself a lot of the great things that Egypt has to offer. I am glad I went, and I would highly recommend this wonderful adventure. Reserve your spot NOW!!

This Egyptian experience was life-changing. I thoroughly enjoyed spending time with my family, creating memories with them and gaining brothers and sisters across the country. I especially enjoyed experiencing this with my two children (5yrs & 22yrs). My daughter still speaks about her visit to the Nubian Village and beams with a sense of pride when she remembers that ppl referred to her as a Nubian Princess. She even lost her tooth during our visit with them The theme for me was persistence. I recall attempting to go to the top of the pyramid and wanting to give up. When I stopped on the platform, I remembered our tour guide, Tarek’s, explanation on how the pyramid was built. They had to persevere despite obstacles or the length of time. In addition, as much as I wanted to stop to “show” my children that sometimes the road gets tough (even for mom) but taking a pause to regroup and pushing on anyway to complete the challenge with them was priceless. The smiles on their face to see that I did in fact make it to the top with them is something I will always cherish. The sites of royalty and breathtaking natural beauty was another highlight for me. It was beautiful to see people that looked like me and in their natural beauty. I did not feel my color or felt invisible. When they greeted us to say “Welcome home!” those two words said just enough to say you belong here. I came home with a renewed sense of purpose, determination, and perseverance to complete any task. I especially loved the idea that there was no thinking involved in terms of what we were doing/eating, all our accommodations, and excursions were all taken care of. We simply had to show up. Amazing experience and I can’t wait for Ghana 2024. Thank you Jay and Freddie for this genius, life-changing opportunity from Maximum Impact Travel and Urban Intellectuals! The culture NEEDS this!

This was my husband and I, first trip to Africa and it exceeded our expectations. We never been on a group trip before, but Maximum Impact/Urban Intellectuals makes sure you have everything you need as soon as you arrive in the airport. After a day of traveling, we were happy to check into a beautiful hotel with gorgeous views and great food. The trip was coordinated with a highly experienced tour guide named Tarek. He ensured our experiences and excursions were educational and entertaining. He was very passionate about his craft and only provided us with excellence. We visited Cairo and saw the Giza Pyramids, Sphinx, and went to the Egyptian Museum. We cruised the Nile to Luxor and the Nile East Bank, Luxor West Bank, Valley of the Kings, Edfu / Kom Ombo, Aswan and the Nubian Village, and Abu Simel. The flow of the trip was perfectly planned out leaving us stress free. All we had to do was be there. My husband and I are still processing the enriching and sometimes emotional experience. My favorite part of the trip was visiting Luxor and Aswan/Nubian Village. Here were towns of more black Egyptians that looks like us. We were also able to visit a family in the village that opened their home to us with open arms. Also, the group of beautiful people that went on the trip with us made the experience in Africa even more meaningful. The only disappointment of this trip was not seeing us (African Americans) on the tour. Our group was always the black representation in the different places we visited. It was almost always 95% white people there learning about us. If they are there, why aren’t we?? For one packaged price broken up into payments, we were able to experience the trip of a lifetime without all the worry of planning from across the ocean. If it’s in your budget, invest in yourself, and go learn the truth. If it’s not, figure out what you need to do, invest in yourself and go learn the truth. You will not regret it!! We are already planning our next trip to Africa. Every year going forward, we will be in Africa learning about our culture. Thank you Maximum Impact/Urban Intellectuals for a life changing experience.

This trip was a trip of a lifetime!! We started as strangers and ended as family. We looked out for each other. It was so amazing. The trip omg!! Words really cannot describe it. It is so much packed in, but in a good day that you can digest it. We went to the Pyramids, cruise on the Nile, went to Luxor, visited temples, Nubian Village, and so much more. To hear the history of Egypt and to see the ancient Pharaoh’s features with Black features!! This trip was educational, and sooo much fun!! I definitely recommend to everyone to go. Urban Intellectuals travel has a great thing here and I can’t wait to travel with them again!

OUTSTANDING! WORTH DOING AGAIN! I LOVED IT!! PEACEFUL & SAFE. Our hosts and leaders were what we needed…knowledgeable, passionate, respectful, AND HELPFUL. We were taken care of so efficiently…no fuss and no drama, but a lot of fun! Jay Cameron knows his stuff! Do yourself a favor. Check this out and sign up. This is the education that we never got. YES, you are worth it. You will be able to help educate others. I am telling family and friends about this experience and encouraging them to do it. I hope to bring some with me on my next trip, hopefully in 2023. It feels good to KNOW the truth. And feel FREE.

It was a great trip! Traveling with a group of people who are truly interested in our history is wonderful. The trips to the Botanical/Arboretum, Kumasi, Cape Coast, Elmina, Mansa Gold chocolate were fabulous and my favorites (not in any particular order). Finally, the SHOPPING. Beautiful fabrics, wood work, drums, kente cloth. It just kept going. I would recommend this trip as an introduction to travel in Africa. I know I am looking forward to traveling to other counties on THE continent.

I really enjoyed my experience and it made me learn a lot although I have been here for awhile now, there are alot of places I don’t know yet and there are few places too that know in Ghana already but this your trip made me know new places and locations as welll and I thank you( Jay) so much for making my this trip successfully and enlightening a youth like me more on our history and I appreciate it so much that I got alot connections, lectures and few advices, few places in this world are more dangerous than home, fear not, therefor, to try the mountains passes. They will kill care, save you from deadly apathy, set you free, and call forth every faculty into vigorous, enthusiastic action, thank you Jay, thanks Africa, peace and love to all????????????????????????????

Overall, the trip was good. However, the food component of the trip was severely unorganized and distasteful, you should provide more local food interactions so we can actually experience the culture. Secondly, the tour guides on the bus were very nice but did not provide a true experience full of information about the places and events we were experiencing; they were mostly silent during our bus rides. If these things are rectified on future excursions, I would certainly travel with urban intellectuals again as I definitely want to experience more of the African continent.

My trip to Ghana with Urban Intellectuals was the very BEST! The planning it took to put this together was nothing short of phenomenal. The places we stayed were just beautiful and the treatment and the heartfelt welcome we received from everyone no matter where we went was an extreme breath of fresh air. The people, the places, the sites, the food and the friends we made in the group will forever be cherished. Our guide, Morris and the others with him, provided those insights that only can be gotten from someone who knows. So much to say, but let this suffice. Jay has put together a once in a lifetime program that will have impact beyond our days on earth. If anyone is thinking of going to visit Africa, Jay Cameron and Maximum Impact Travel is THE way to go. They literally held our hand the entire trip. Thank you ????????

I literally don’t even have the words to describe the amazing experience we had in Ghana. From the moment we touched down on the Motherland, we knew that we were HOME. The people welcomed us with open arms and made us feel like family. Maximum Impact put together an awesome itinerary and everything was done in excellence. From our visits to the castles and slave river, to having the honor of being invited to a naming ceremony with the elders and being given our ancestral names taking us back to our roots, to watching Wakanda while in “Wakanda,” to the marketplace shopping, to walking the suspended bridges….every minute of this trip was meaningful and impactful and has changed our lives forever. The best part was I got to do it with my Dad and big sister! I couldn’t ask for much more. I’m already looking to see what country is next! I can’t wait to sign up for another one. Thank you Maximum Impact for the opportunity of a lifetime. You made it so easy and I am eternally grateful. Medaase Paa!

Words alone could never fully express the wonderful, memorable good time my daughters & I experience in Ghana. Jay & his team did a fantastic job in preparing for our visit From start to finish. 5 Stars aren’t enough for all they did to ensure our comfort & convenience in getting us to the many great sights that we visited. Maximum Impact is truly bridging the gap. We look forward to our next adventure traveling to the continent with Jay & his remarkable team. This inaugural trip to Ghana was a sacred experience. From the moment we landed in Accra, we were cared for extremely well. Jay and his team curated experiences that exposed us to the beauty, brilliance, sophistication, complexity, and simplicity of the people, land, history, and present way of life. It was an experience that allowed for fun, learning, rest, and adventure for everyone- from the elders to the kids. This was my first trip to Africa and it won’t be my last. I plan to travel with Maximum Impact Travel and Urban Intellectuals in the future. Hopefully, every person of the African Diaspora would answer Africa’s call to come home! It’s highly probable that you won’t regret it.

I loved how organized and proactive the planning was on this trip. The hotel was excellent. I met a lot of Ghanaian ppl who I intend to stay in contact with. There were so many life changing experiences, it’s hard to pick one. But certainly the Naming ceremony and slave river were the most impactful and important to me ! !! Intending to take more African tours w Jay once I’m settled in Ghana. Much love to Jay and the crew. Anita Jamison

I had a wonderful time on the Ghana trip. Jay and company took great care of us. Everyday was a new adventure. This was a trip of a life time, I went alone but made MANY new friends. They took care of our every need and wants. It was a very safe environment and we were well received by Ghanaians. I highly recommend this trip to anyone with wants to get in touch with your history. I’m already booked with Jay and company for Egypt next year. They are the real deal. This trip was worth every penny I spent.

Humbling and enlightening. This was a spiritual and birthright journey that was enhanced with preparation, love, care, wisdom, and guidance provided by Jay Cameron and his superior village of guides that supported us before, during and after our Ghana experience. My husband, sons (aged 8 and 10), and I arrived in Ghana in a state of curiosity and excitement. We left in a state of grace, enlightenment and peace. We were in constant communication with Jay. Jay was present and accessible. The level of customer service is to be revered. The team balanced and maintained a level of respect for us and the beautiful people of Ghana to ensure the experience was mutually beneficial and pleasant. We saw acts of humanity for the elders, children and everyone between that was wholesome and genuine; and demonstrated by everyone in Jay’s team and the travel group. We formed a familial bond that we will always remember and tell everyone back home about. In closing, we encourage each one bring one. Each one teach one about the Maximum Impact, Urban Intellectuals and Sankofa Club experience, movement and culture!! Remember DuBois’ web. Hotep – Sharon, Tim, Jaiden and Peyton

TRIP OF A LIFETIME! We had an amazing time during our trip to Egypt. It was an educational experience that you could never receive from a book. There was never a dull moment with the fun and engaging scheduled activities planned each day. The tour managers were very knowledgeable about the Egyptian history and culture, sharing the untold story that has been left out of many history books. It was so surreal seeing in person and visiting the pyramids and temples of ancient kings and queens. The cultural food was delicious with a variety of healthy choices available. The friendly people and comfortable accommodations made me feel at ease traveling this great distance with my child. The family-friendly environment and personalized experiences of visiting a local Nubian family (where my son made a friend), seeing how alabaster is carved into vases and ornaments, and taking a cruise down the Nile River has made this an unforgettable excursion. We look forward to traveling with Urban Intellectuals on our next trip to Africa. Thank you Jay and Freddie for this phenomenal experience!

This was my first group trip and first trip to Africa (Ghana). The team made us all feel welcomed and thought of every Plan B before we arrived. The people in my group were like old friends. Everyone was kind and friendly. This created a wonderful atmosphere for connecting and experiencing the trip with joy. We talked, we shared, we laughed, we had fun together! Jay and his Ghana team were patient and always accommodating. It was a wonderful experience and perfectly timed to see the release of Wakanda Forever! Thank you for the opportunity!!

Our trip to Ghana was absolutely fantastic! From the time we landed until we departed, we were taken care of, supported, respected and treated like family. The accommodations and activities were top notch and well planned. Thought and consideration for all members of the group was evident in the arrangements for assistance for those with mobility issues, dietary restrictions, and overall support provided. Staff were beautiful people with big hearts who worked tirelessly to share the magic of Ghana. I would definitely travel with Jay Cameron and his team again! This has been my favorite vacation EVER! We saw so much, learned so much, and had so many fun and exciting adventures. The tour guides were exceptionally knowledgeable, kind, and always available. The trip was meticulously planned and orchestrated; seniors, the mobility impaired, and those with other health issues were accommodated and looked after, by the team and by fellow travelers. I traveled alone, and I met a like-minded new family with whom additional trips have already been scheduled. I couldn’t be more impressed and excited for many more adventures! Highly recommend!

An extraordinary trip of a lifetime! I honestly do not believe we could have had a better trip with any other organization than Urban Intellectuals. From the initial encounter with Jay Cameron on the intro Zoom meeting until we were back on the plane home, we knew we made the right choice to join UI and Maximum Impact Travel on the journey of education, camaraderie, and real fun. We were looking for a means to travel to the motherland and this came right on time. The payment plan made the trip easily attainable and the professionalism of the staff and guides cannot be surpassed. It meant so much for us to be a part of the inaugural trip to Africa and tour the country of Egypt. We have grown our family with the great relationships born in such a short time with the other 40 tour members. Hats off to Freddie and his team for making this happen. We’re already signed up for Ghana next year.

What an amazing experience! From visiting the Nubian museum & the Nubian village to cruising the Nile River there was something new around every corner. Jay along with Prince made the entire learning experience one that will leave us more enlightened than when we landed in Egypt! To see the Great Pyramids & the Sphinx to being in the Tomb of King Tut and learning more about how Egyptian history links to African history. I can’t say enough about this once in A lifetime experience! Thank you!!!

We were shepherded by knowledgable guides, staff, team members, drivers, chefs, waiters, housekeepers and more. My husband and I traveled to Africa for the first time and with our two boys ages 5 and 7. From the time we landed in Egypt we were watched over, protected and received the best care. We became apart of the Nubian Family and I wept when, it was time to leave our new family. This trip helped me connect to Africa and sparked the desire to return with my family and explore many other countries. I am changed, my family is changed and I couldn’t be more thankful for this experience. God Bless You All!

Our trip to Egypt Maximum Impact Travel and Urban Intellectuals was a once in a lifetime experience. Beginning with planning and communication before we even put a deposit down there was constant instructions and updates to make sure our booking went smoothly. Jay did a great job with the Zoom meetings and making sure everyone’s questions were answered. We knew exactly what happened to be done and when it needed to be done by to make the trip a success and once we landed in Egypt the entire experience was flawless. The destinations were all well planned out and all we needed to do was show up and enjoy the pyramids, tombs, camel rides, hot air balloon rides, museums and whatever else was on the itinerary for us. Highly recommended that if your going to travel, especially to a country where there is a language barrier, you do so as a group and there is no better group tour experience than Maximum Travel. Thank you Jay for planning this once in a lifetime trip for us.

A 5-star trip of a lifetime! As a matter of fact, it was three trips in one. It included a flight to Aswan and a cruise. Who gives a cruise in the middle of the ground trip? That’s a winner! The trip was much more than I expected. We toured from Cairo to Abu Simbel in the most comfortable and safe way. The best and most knowledgeable tour guides; and the enrichment of interacting with the local population. All our needs were catered to with love and respect. I did not know anyone in the group, and from our first introductions in the lobby of the hotel, I felt as if I was with family. This trip has changed me. I feel a new sense of peace and content. I’m glad it was my first trip to Africa, because it took me back to a beginning that opened my eyes to the answer of a million questions that I had. I can’t thank you enough for this opportunity and experience. Please continue to offer more opportunities for us to tour the Motherland.

My trip to Egypt was overwhelmingly memorable, historical, educational, and kinsmen expanding, not only with my newly found Nubian kinsmen on the Motherland continent, but also as an expansion of my domestic village of family members by way of travel companions. The Egypt Experience was well managed and strategically organized to minute detail. The host, organizers, guides and supporting staff were all warm, helpful, knowledgeable, and selfless in making the experience unforgettable and uniquely tailored. Although I traveled with a companion, I feel I would have enjoyed the experience equally or even more so, had I traveled solo having no reservations or concerns of safety. Accommodations were top notch both on land and the cruise ship sailing down the Nile River. The food was great, the tours were extensive, and I learned more of Black History in a week than I had ever learned over the many years of public-school education. I will say that visiting the many historical sites was intense and jammed-packed and I would have preferred more time to absorb and take them all in. Eight days is not nearly enough time to fully appreciate the wealth of information provided. Our tour guide, Prince, was so knowledgeable and responsive, and he delivered historical information that a 2nd year graduate student would appreciate, but in a way that a high school student could understand. I recommend having lots of stamina, comfortable shoes, and sleep allergies! I for one am allergic to morning hours, but I made the adjustment to the imposed sleep deprivation. I could go on as I tend to be long winded, but I encourage anyone contemplating a trip to Egypt to go. Don’t overthink it. Don’t talk yourself out of it. Don’t listen to the propaganda or naysayers who are ill-informed and who project their own fears. Go with your instincts, passions, and overdue desires. It will be well worth it. Live your best life and be forever educated and empowered in the process! Dr. Sonjia Williams – Inglewood, CA

It was so so amazing, I didn’t expect to enjoy my trip as much as I did, but it was an experience i will never forget, first of all I met so many new friends/Nubian family on this trip, The food was delicious also I had a surprise birthday celebration didn’t expect that for sure was a surprise for me everyone celebrating my birthday!! Next I learn so much more about Egypt and about all the tour to the different museum especially the Nubian museums, I learned about the great RAMSES 11 how QUEEN NEFERTARI how she stands behind RAMESES 11 , also I learn how the Papyrus paper was made from a plant base paper how amazing! I saw so many Parymids, in person and they are bigger than was shown on picture or TV it was an educational trip for me but much more fun added also. I enjoy every minute I was there,! Being in Egypt and take a boat ride on the River Nile was an experience where Mose was found by Pharoah Wife and was raised by Pharoah as one of his son was awesome, also on a boat ,then on a tut tut to the Nubian city where we met with our Nubian brothers and sisters and sat and have a feast with them was awesome also, I think I can write a book about my trip but I’ll stop here! Thanks URBAN INTELLECTUAL for one of my most experienced trip I ever had ❤️

It was a wonderful experience touring Egypt with Maximum Impact. Upon arrival, Jay Cameron immediately put our whole group in family mode. Held an arrival dinner to introduce the his team and each of us. Very detailed and informative, ensuring that we were always prepared for upcoming tours and activities. This tour was amazing, educational and fun. Our tour guide, Prince was phenomenal. His knowledge of the Egyptian history will last me a lifetime. Tje rest of his team assisted us with any questions or situations in a professional manner. I now have friends for life that can reminisce on our journeys. I take all of my tour experiences back to my community to encourage my family and friends to travel and to see for themselves our history. This was my second tour and I will travel anywhere with Maximum Impact. Thank you and stay blessed. Toni Smalls

Maximum Impact gave us an unforgettable experience! Everything was beautifully orchestrated. The Lancaster Hotel is ideally located in Accra – and their Sunday brunch is a treat. We also loved the accommodations at the sea-side resorts, and the awesome adventures planned for us, in those locations. Driving through the countryside outside of Accra was relaxing. All of the adventures planned were fun learning experiences. Some of our favorite outings were: the Aburi Botanical Gardens in Aburi Hills, the welcoming drums at the Market, the centuries old Stilt Village, the visit to the Ancestral Wall in Pram-Pram and the subsequent meal and friendly discussion with its owner; the Kakum Canopy Walk – this was a feat for me! Our trip to Kumasi in Ashanti Kingdom where we were giving our local names in the naming ceremony and where we learned of the Kente cloth weaving, was an educational event where we learned of our ongoing ancient traditions and culture. Tours of Slave River and the Dungeons reawakened deep emotions which were extremely spiritual as they illuminated missing “pieces of the puzzle” which we have come to know as a distinctly unique (some say Biblical)history of the life-journey of enslaved Africans from whom we in the African Diaspora were descended. But there were fun times as well. I would be remiss in not mentioning the delicious meals enjoyed at celebrated restaurants! Also noteworthy was the professional attention to our comfort by the Maximum Impact staff. Morris and Regina are the epitome of great customer service which is especially needed when far away from home! This was a truly beautiful way to enjoy a birthday! Thank you, Jay Cameron/Maximum Impact!

Having been talking about visiting Egypt for at least 15 years, this trip truly met and exceeded all of my expectations. There was so many sites seen and much history learned! This was definitely a trip of a lifetime with memories I will never forget!! The trip was jam packed with excursions and totally worth it! This was my first time booking with Jay and Maximum Impact and I would absolutely travel with them again.

This trip was phenomenal! Words could not describe the awesome experience of I encountered as I learned about my ancestors. Our Tour guide, Prince made each history lesson so intense, you felt as though you were living it. From the hotel accommodations to the cruise, everything was organized and in decency. Everywhere we went, our guide provided information. There were no long lines of inconvenience. The bus accommodations were clean and air conditioned. The meals provided were healthy, nutritional and fulling. The staff on the cruiselines were polite and generous, always making sure the guests needs were met. The friends I met in the Max Impact Group are wonderful and I will NEVER forget them. ???????? And what can I say about our host, Jay Cameron? OUTSTANDING!!! I would travel with Maximum Impact again and again and again. This trip was so much fun, I wrote a song about it!! ????

Ok…what can I say… this was another great trip. I have been on 3 Maximum Impact Travel tours so far and have just booked the 4th one to South Africa! This says a lot and I could end my review with that but I have sooooooo much more to share. The quality, professionalism, accommodations, and adventure that I have received on all of my trips with Maximum Impact Travel has me continually coming back for more. Every time I return home from a trip with MIT I am already looking to schedule the next trip. I have met so many great people on these tours. We come together as strangers and leave out as family. My ultimate travelling goal is to visit every country where my DNA is found. Jay has definitely opened up that opportunity in a safe yet affordable way. My husband did not accompany me on this trip to Egypt but I felt confident going with my brother Jay. I knew that all would be well. He is constantly aware and protective of those that travel with him and extremely particular about his brand . The attention to details is definitely appreciated as I am also a detail oriented person. Now let’s get to Egypt. Words cannot describe the hustle and bustle of a fast paced country like Egypt. All I can say is bring your single dollar bills and enjoy the bargains. From an educational perspective I believe that no other place can match the ancient artifacts like Egypt. To walk the path of ancient historical sites is unreal. I never thought that I would be in a place where I only read about in watered down history books. Wow…I still haven’t completely processed what I just experienced. From multiple horse drawn carriage rides, a camel ride and ATV-ing near the pyramids to climbing inside the Great Giza Pyramid, and standing next to and then walking inside these massive temples just to name a few were all great experiences that I will never forget. Just when I thought that it couldn’t get any better we began to sail the Nile to various landmarks. Oh my goodness that was the highlight of the trip for me. Relaxing, hanging out with the fam and shopping on the top tier of the ship was the breathtaking. We laughed, danced, ate, sang, and became better acquainted during our time on the cruise. Those moments tied the entire trip together and left me wishing the trip did not have to end. Thank you Jay for all that you have opened up for us Diasporans. Words truly cannot express my heartfelt gratitude. You have been a blessing to so many people especially my immediate family. I look forward to spending more time with my new found family and I will definitely continue to travel with Jay and Maximum Impact Travel.

Grand Risings to you all. Once again Maximum Impact Travels has done it again. This is my third trip within a year in a half to the Continent. I am from the west coast of the USA and I must say Egypt was worth every step walked & every mile travelled. There were many GEMS dropped; like puzzle pieces and it’s our time to put them together! Re-learn to Re-educate… I sat and ate dinner with the Nubian people in their village and learned how they kept their bloodline pure. I sat with the Nubian children as they sang for us/USA. The experience of the hot air ballon looking over what once was our ancestors to now being controlled by the one and only ?? I rode on a Camel by the Pyramids and also went up inside the Pyramids, the shopping experience was enjoyable and exciting; have you seen negotiating at its best yesssssssssss!! We also traveled down the Nike River for a few days on a RiverBoat, we rode a horse carriages throughout Luxor at dawn, the lights were a beautiful sight to see. We visited many monuments/museums only to see and feel the truth. We rode a bus to Abo Simple and I noticed miles and miles of trucks parked on the side of the rode with products waiting for a ferry that can only take some much of the truck load… and there were sending the products to Sudan WOW something to see with your own eyes….The most amazing part was I discovered more of my Family; my new traveling family. It’s so much to digest and take in and a must do for YOU!! From Cairo to Aswan I would do it all over again with Jay…. You will receive “A Maximum Egypt Experience” . I want to thank Jay and his whole team from Administration to the Grounds and all the behind the scenes team, thank you thank you and thank you! I will be traveling with you all again soon and can’t wait for what’s next!! I recommend Maximum Impact Travels for your MotherLand Gateway……..

More accolades for Maximum Impact travel and team!! I highly recommend 10/10!! This was more than a trip, it was a journey! With the perfect mix of adventure, education and just flat out fun!! This is my second time traveling with Maximum Impact and the level of excellence was consistent across the board. You can expect high quality accommodations, a well organized itinerary, with a variety of activities and sights visited. We left no stone unturned!! I have SEEN Egypt first hand. The food was great (yasss to the plant based options galore!!) The list goes on, but what is most remarkable is the people you meet while traveling with Maximum Impact. I love the “we are family” vibes! Thank you Jay & team for another wonderful experience. I’m looking forward to the next opportunity to travel with Maximum Impact.

This trip was as amazing as I thought it would be and more. I was surprised with Cake and a special Egyptian Gift for my Birthday by the Host and Tour Guide. I came alone and was nervous about that but I’ve met so many amazing people including the Host, the camera crew, tour guide and drivers. This trip was so well organized and the staff I had email communication with prior to the trip were fast reponders and always made sure I got the answers I needed. I will be recommending my family and friends to travel with Maximum Impact.

For years I’ve always wanted to visit Egypt to see it for myself. The magnificent Pyramids, Temples, and the Nile River. When I found out that Maximum Impact Travel was sponsoring a trip, it was a no-brainer. I signed up right away. I knew it would be a great trip from prior experience with them, having gone to Ghana. Needless to say, all of my expectations were met, and more! The excellent and knowledgeable tour guide, the Egyptian cuisine they turned us on to, the very nice and comfortable accommodations. The wonderful people in our travel group also helped to make this trip a most memorable trip as well. Weeze now family! The Maximum Impact Travel Staff are Top Notch. The Egypt Experience they provided for us was Grrrrrreat! You gotta go! Thanks Jay!

The trip to Egypt was phenomenal. I enjoyed each and ever moment of exploring, discovering and learning more about the culture and history of Egypt. You need to come and experience it for yourself because pictures don’t reflect the true beauty and splendor of the pyramids, temples and museums.

Our trip to Egypt was enjoyable. I gained a lot of knowledge and the mental shackles came off. I was able to really focus on having a good time without worrying about our safety for the entire trip. The environment was pleasant. We opened up and had fun with new people and now we have a whole new group of traveling friends. I felt free mentally and spiritually. Looking forward to more trips with Maximum Impact!

Maximum Impact Egyptian trip. I had a fantastic time on our Nile Cruise. The temples and tombs were quite magnificent. What made the trip so worthwhile were our tour guides. Once In Cairo, Prince showed us around. He was very passionate about Egyptian history. Also In Aswan where he’s from., he was very knowledgable. I’ve learned a lot and absorb a tremendous amount of information on this trip and really enjoyed it.

Greetings Family, My trip to Egypt was my second amazing, educational and enlightening trip with Maximum Impact Travel, touring our Motherland, Africa. My first trip was to Ghana, in July 2021. For my trip to Egypt, I had to go solo, but I never felt that I was alone. The other travelers on this tour are from all over the USA; they are now my family and friends. We encouraged each to finish the climb to the top of the Great Pyramid of Giza in Cairo. We watched the sunrise in a hot air balloon as we sailed over Luxor. We visited so many impressive ancient temples and museums displaying the artifacts of ancient times. The food was delicious, the people were very amicable, and they called us “Cousins.” Most memorable was the 4-day cruise down the Nile River, touring Luxor and Aswan. It was so calming and picturesque. Visiting a local community in Aswan and being invited into their living space and school was a special treat. Every awakening minute of their trips is well planned, and Jay and his staff are very protective of us while we are in the country. Maximum Impact Travel will always be my “go-to” for my international.

I had an amazing and awaking experience of life for outside the United States. We tend to take for granted the lifestyles that we are accustomed to and to come to Egypt and see their life struggles is tear jerking at times. This trip was all it was intended to be educational, informative and inspiring. Personally, I’m not comfortable doing a lot of walking and being honest this trip is 60% at the least walking. The Temples were magnificent and the structures of the various statues and artifacts in mint condition. We did have some early morning risings before dawn due to locations and distance to travel. The hot air balloon prior to the trip had me a little nervous but being up in the air and having the sun rise right in front of you was marvelous. This is a once in a lifetime trip for the experience. The tour guide, Prince, knows his Egyptian history, well knowledge with facts and figures. Jay Cameron this was my first trip with you and Maximum Impact Travels and it was great, you exceeded my expectations and relaxed any fears that I had. It was worth the almost 11 hours flight from JFK. Keep everyone informed and interested in the Mother Land, Africa. Hopefully I will be on another experience. You are awesome and dynamic. This was my second travel experience with Jay and his team with Maximum Impact travel. My first was to Accra, Ghana which was thought provocative, soul enriching and truly amazing. Never could I have imagined how much my being needed to make this journey discovering missing pieces to my puzzle. As to my second travel experience to Egypt, initially my thoughts were great I’ll finally see ruins of Ancient Egypt I’d read about as a semi history nerd; Giza Pyramids, Valley of the Kings, Nubian Country, etc. This was accomplished with so much more. Our tour guide Prince, showed so much passion in his delivery of information allowing me to understand that again I was taught history with missing pieces, to discover how/what we the first people have in common today. The country is vast; from Camel rides around the Pyramids, to cruising the Nile River scratching the surface of the most skillful and advanced civilization in the ancient world was a bucket list dream come true. So, If you have been contemplating travel to Africa I’d say stop waiting. Jay and his team with Maximum Impact Travel can help you make those interests come true, the experiences are monumentally phenomenal!!! With sincere thoughts. Thanks Jay!

I would like to thank the entire Maxium Impact team for making my dream come true with this amazing Egypt experience! I received the ancient history, modern culture and a cruise on the Nile! I never once felt I was unsafe and Jay made sure we were all safe and accounted for on every tour/excursion. I have already told so many people about Maxium Impact. I will be booking future trips and will never forget the memories created! I am beyond blessed to finally check Egypt off my top 5 travel bucket list. Peace, blessings, protection and abundance upon you!! Shukran!!

It was an awesome experience. Maximum Impact did their due diligence and made sure the needs of the participants were taken care of from day one. The tours and accommodations were great. I truly enjoyed the exposure to the Egyptian culture especially the Nubian people. You usually don’t get this close to the culture on tours. Job well done. Thank you Maximum Impact Travel ????

This trip was by far the most amazing trip of my life, I know that if I had visited Egypt on my own I would not have had this experience. Jay and his team were amazing they truly make you feel like family. I would recommend Maximum Impact to anyone who wants to travel to Egypt, they made my experience to Egypt even better than I could have ever imagined, I can not express in words what a wonderful time I had, evey day was non stop adventure so just know when you sign up for the Egypt tour you will get way more than what is actually presented to you on paper. So rest up before you go be adventure awaits you. I will definitely book another tour with Maximum Impact and every one I know will know about Maximum Impact as well. Our trip to Egypt with Maximum Impact was one we won’t EVER forget!!! From experiencing first hand the people’s way of living to watching the native men excitedly bid to transport us by the horse drawn carriages to climbing inside the pyramid to walking on the grains of sand of our ancestors and trying our best to soak in as much info as our brains can handle… we are happily exhausted and resting up for the next experience!! Looking forward to seeing our “extended” family again on another Maximum Impact Experience. Thank you Jay for being the man you are and opening up this door for ALL to experience!

I had the absolute privilege of joining the Gateway Experience Ghana, July 2022. There’s only one word to describe it – TRANSFORMATIVE. Jay has done the work and created a truly phenomenal travel experience. Because of his efforts, I connected with the ancestors, with Ghanaians, with Africans and with myself. I fell in love with Ghana and am now planning to move there. Jay and his local team – the incomparable Morris and the loyal Ernest – took care of every detail and provided a trip that was informative, enjoyable and safe. I don’t think I could have that experience with any other tour operator. From now on, I will only travel with Jay and Maximum Impact when I visit any place in Africa. In fact, my group and I are planning to travel together again to Tanzania next year. It’s just that deep. If you love Black people and Blackness, then love yourself by booking a trip with Maximum Impact!

Our trip to Ghana with Maxium Impact was an eye opening experience. It gave a great understanding to the significance of our heritage and the place from which our ancestors came. It also raised eyebrows to the stories that we were led to believe as compared to what actually happened. The trip allowed us to see who the people of West Africa truly lived and how the negative narrative that was given was so misleading and detrimental to Africa. They are real people with real souls. Ghana may not be one of the wealthiest countries but the spirit and soul of the people was more precious then any monetary amount. The people were very welcoming. I saw similarities in our ways, strengthin the people and a genuine kindness. They are a culture of beautiful people, even with their struggles they are always working hard and smiling. We met wonderful people there and those who came on the trip. Maxium Impact presented a trip filled with history, food, nice accommodations, fun activities and even in understanding of investing in Ghana. The hosts and tour guides were awesome. We hope to visit Africa again with them and I would encourage anyone who can to come and see it for yourself. It was safe and carefree. Thank you Maxium Impact for a wonderful experience. I Had a wonderful time. I was looking forward to visiting Ghana and its people for months. The length of the trip was perfect for me. The size of the group was perfect. Ground transportation, hotel accommodation, activities were very good. I enjoyed the food. The people are courteous and friendly. I was satisfied with the arrangement of ground and air transportation. It was to my liking. Even when we were caught in mini traffic jam our driver knew how to get around. I am grateful to Jay for the organization of sights and our guide, Morris was also excellent. Looking forward to joining another Impact Travel trip and running into some of the trip members who became like family. on this trip.

I will definitely book another trip with Jay Cameron and Maximum Impact Travel. This is a trip of a lifetime.

This was a trip of a lifetime!!! Awesome! After our DNA tests through Ancestry, we discovered a connection to Ghana. With that, we found Jay’s tour to Ghana! This was 8 days of an educational experience in which we highly enjoyed and more than we think of or expected! This tour for us, seemed to have been organized by Jay, personally for us! Everything was taken care and he made sure we (everyone on the tour) were okay. There were no unexpected expenditures as we moved around from place to place. Morris, his assistant, was outstanding and our driver, Ernest, exceptional! The food was outstanding, and the Ghanaians were courteous, friendly and welcomed us “home”. For me (Dwain) I personally as a black man, my journey has come full circle. From the Point of No Return not only have I returned; but also, with my ancestral name of Wiafe. I am sure my ancestors are proud of the legacy that has been made for me and my family. To top it off, I celebrated my birthday in the Motherland and Jay made it extra special for me As for me, (Mary) it was so surreal and a soul inspiring spiritual tour to the Motherland. As we toured the Assin Manso Ancestral Slave River, I paid homage to my ancestors as I felt the grounds, walked the path to the river, and touched the waters where my ancestors took their last bath on African soil before being marched down to the slave ships at the slave castles, Cape Coast and Elmina, a place of “No Return”, onto the Atlantic. I felt a spiritual connection to my ancestors; those who refused to go and died and those who took that path in chains to the river. As I walked into the waters, I embodied my ancestors and was grateful for the chance to “Return”. It allowed us to spread some of our deceased daughter, Monai, ashes into the river and at the Ancestral Burial site, signifying her return, even in death. We were given the opportunity to memorialize her and our family name on the Memorial Wall of Return. Touring the dungeons was without a doubt heart-wrenching; and it gave me an opportunity to physically and mentally “Return”. Thanks to Jay Cameron. As I told him, that he has a ministry, that should be spread across the world, of bringing African Americans back to their homeland. This is the tour, and we recommend this tour to any “first-timers” who would like to “go back” to Africa to see for themselves the “real” Africa, in a safe, exciting, and to have an enjoyable experience, should do so with Jay as your guide. We will return. Dwain and Mary Ann Shaw Camp Springs, Maryland

Wow!!! “Jambo Jambo”!!! Now that I am over the jetlag I can give an honest review of my experience. The trip was action packed from beginning to end. I was pulled out of my comfort zone and stretched to limits that were definitely unfamiliar to me “hakuna matata” lol. The attention to detail was clearly intentional and it was well appreciated. The lodging places were well staffed and remarkable in appearance. The staff were super kind and always helpful. Jay and his team made sure that no opportunity was wasted showing us as much of both countries as possible in this short amount of time. Unlike my experience in Ghana, I was not sure of what to expect from this adventure. I had done very little to no research prior to going on this trip and I am glad that I chose that strategy. I started with a blank slate and left with a wealth of knowledge. I was open to learning as much as possible from this opportunity. From the pickup at the airport to the drop-off at the airport I was in suspense about every activity on the agenda. Traveling to East Africa has never been of interest to me but even before the plane landed the curiosity and excitement began. The aerial view of the peak of Mt. Kilimanjaro stimulated my interest and by the time we landed I was eager to find out more about this country. On the ground I was extremely impressed by the beautiful mountainous landscape of Tanzania and the breathtaking ocean waters of Zanzibar. The nighttime view of the stars while overlooking the Serengeti was absolutely captivating. The humility that I felt by interacting with the local people offered a more personal touch to the trip. Learning about the history of the people and the land from the locals answered a lot of questions that I had began to develop. As I continue to reflect on this experience I am grateful that I went on this trip and I look forward to experiencing more journeys with Maximum Impact Travel. My journey towards truth continues!

During this trip to Tanzania, all of my senses returned to Africa. I saw the bluest ocean, tasted the riches of spices, stepped on soft sands on Nungwi beach, smelled the dust of the Serengeti, and heard the hyena’s laughter at night. All while being amazed that a little girl from Cleveland could be awakened twice to dream big. This is my second trip with Maximum Impact Travels and certainly not the last! I’m completely honored to travel with great people and be taken care of by great people. Thanks, Jay!

A-MA-ZING! This trip is my second African Adventure with Maximum Impact Travel, and many more are to come. I traveled alone on this trip but never was I by myself. I met so many other enthusiastic Maximum Impact travelers on their connecting flights and layovers. We recognized one another at once! I felt like we were an instant family! The Serengeti did not disappoint! To see so many animals up close and in their natural habitat doing what they do reminds me of just how important it is to mind what I do to the environment. Zanzibar, oh Zanzibar! B E A U T I F U L I’ll be back! At each accommodation, I was greeted by name and treated with kindness. The people are so wonderful and so gracious!

Thank you, Jay Cameron and Maximum Impact (“MI”), for a truly memorable vacation. This was an important trip for me because my experiencing the sights and sounds while walking the narrow, winding and crowded streets of Zanzibar would fulfill and bring to life, in vivid color and texture, my fantastical child-hood dreams and imaginations about Zanzibar and Tanzania. I was planning the trip myself until I saw Maximum Impact’s tour. Yes folks! This is going be more of a testimonial than a review. This awesome Tanzania tour planned by MI is definitely a trip of a lifetime. This is not my 1st African safari but it is my 2nd trip with MI. Because my previous trip with MI was so seamlessly organized and amazing, I knew I had to join and my sister did also, the “East African Adventure –Tanzania (Safari & Zanzibar)” tour–and they didn’t disappoint! If your desire is to visit East Africa on safari and to experience Zanzibar, this is the trip to go on! Jay and his Maximum Impact team planned an amazing jam-packed tour with fellow travelers who are wonderful people. Our tour group bonded over great food, deluxe hotel accommodations, an exciting Safari across the sweeping plains of the Serengeti, while stopping to behold the breath-taking views of Ngorongoro Crater. In the Serengeti, our group also bonded over beautiful sunsets after game-drives and retiring to our super comfortable “glamping” tents; there were also spectacular sunrises while hot-air ballooning, visiting and jumping with the beautiful Maasai people, visiting Olduvai Gorge, and so much more. Our safari was everything we could have asked for. Our Maximum Impact guide, Ruben, was amazing. He had much knowledge about the people, animals, and the land. He also maneuvered our touring vehicle like a champion and at no time did we not feel safe and secure with him at the wheel. After Safari, we headed to Zanzibar, again deluxe accommodations and food were excellent. The tranquil beach paradise vibe, the shimmering turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean, the history of the people, the butterfly farm, the incredible spice farm tour, and so much, much more made this an amazing trip. The mutual pull to the Continent that I share with my new family of travelers assures me that we will be together again on another MI tour in the near future.

We had an AMAZING trip. An adventurous safari followed by seeing & experiencing most, if not all of the beautiful island of Zanzibar. Most of the group we traveled with started out as strangers & we all left as family. It was a VERY organized trip & I can’t wait to travel with them again. I joined Maximum Impact for a dream trip of mine to Tanzania the mainland and Zanzibar! I was able to bring my 7 year old daughter and mother along and it was a dream! This was an amazing trip with everything planned out for us. The Serengeti was the most surreal experience of a lifetime and I am still in awe! Zanzibar was absolutely beautiful! The trip was both full of entertainment and education! I plan on taking a lot more trips with Maximum Impact. My daughter is already talking about our next trip with the group lol. The group I traveled with, became an extended family. Don’t think twice about it, do yourself a favor and book your dream trip!!!

As usual Max Impact provided an incredible adventure and incredible people to share the journey with. This is a jam-packed itinerary that covers a lot of ground and really showcases the diversity of the African continent. The pre-trip zoom meetings are not to be missed as they are the chance to really draw on Max Impact’s knowledge and pro-tips. My second trip with them and traveling with anyone else would be a disappointment, as they wouldn’t live up to the customer service of Max Impact.

This Ghana Tour was fantastic and informative. Jay Cameron is an expert on the historical and tourist sites in Accra and Cape Coast. He is a leader, great listener, and organizer. His itinerary is timely and on point. He enjoys discussions with his tour group. He has a mission to share the beauty of Africa which is apparent in his actions and in his tours. The hotel accommodations were excellent. I never experienced any insect bites. I enjoyed the ritual of receiving my new Ghana name. My second favorite was visiting the Elmira slave dungeon and reliving the steps of the slaves as they exit the dungeon through the Door of no Return. My sister and I enjoyed the whole experience. The people in Ghana are friendly, respectful, warm and patient. I loved their food which was tasty, eye appealing, fresh, and very satisfying. Everyone should visit Africa with Jay Cameron once in their life time. Thank you Jay for this unforgettable journey. My only regret is I wish I had visited the continent earlier in my life.

My sister and I had an awesome time on the tour. Everyday offered a new adventure from historical landmarks to beautiful natural landscapes. The accommodations offered the comforts of home and the food was always delicious. Jay Cameron’s and his staff’s customer service skills far exceeded my expectation. I would definitely tour with Maximum Impact Travel in the future.

The Maximum Impact Travel team made this one of the best travel experiences we’ve ever had. The attention paid to details and care for our needs was phenomenal! The Ghanaian people we met were so welcoming that they felt like family. We had no concerns for our safety in general and specifically with the delicious food options made available to us. The experience was worth every dollar spent as the memories we created as a family are priceless. We are already starting to save towards our next experience with Maximum Impact Travel and will be returning to Ghana with them in the future.

Thank you Maximum Impact for this amazing, culturally rich, and life-changing tour. As a person who had never planned to travel to Africa due to negative narratives passed down through generations and the media, Jay Cameron’s travel shows and training gave me the courage and confidence to step out and go. I was not disappointed. The food and accommodations were very pleasing. The activities were well thought out and worthwhile. I highly encourage people, especially of the African Diaspora to do themselves a favor and go on this tour. I’m so glad that I did not leave this earth without visiting Mother Africa. I loved it and definitely plan to travel with Maximum Impact on future tours. (Michelle J. )

This was without a doubt THE best trip I have ever been on. It packed so much in the time we were in Ghana. The service is pretty much White Glove in that if you follow directions you will not have a worry in the world. The people were so friendly and professional. This was not a vacation, this was an Experience! Our group was amazing and I hope to keep in touch with each one of them. We are actually planning on having a reunion with Maximum Impact in Tanzania. Jay, you’re amazing brother! What you are doing and have done is not only inspirational but it is truly missionary. Please keep it up. Thank you and your entire team for waking us up.

This was the best trip I have ever taken. The tour provided a great educational and inspirational experience. There was something to captivate the interest of the young and old. Jay and his crew were very professional and made every effort to accommodate individual and group needs. I will never forget this tour and I will always remember the individuals with whom I shared this great journey.

This was an amazing experience! I am so glad I chose to utilized Maximum Impact. Being that this was my first trip out of the country and I was solo as well, you made things so easy and comfortable for me. I learned so much about myself and my people, met wonderful people, ate great food and ultimately felt like I truly arrived home. The communication and organization of Maximum Impact from the time you sign up and even after the trip is exceptional. I truly feel apart of the Maximum Impact family and can’t see myself traveling with any other company. Thank you for an unbelievable experience!!

If you are looking for a vacation to relax and do nothing, this is not the trip for you. If you are looking to experience non thinking activities for amusement, this trip is not for you. If you are looking to chill or Chill lax, this trip is not for you. However, if you are looking to learn and grow, to experience African Culture this is the trip for you. If you are looking for understanding, if you are looking to feel the past of your ancestors this is the trip for you. If you are looking for spiritual growth on a whole different level, this trip is for you. If you desire to consume great authentic foods, and consume the sweetest of Mangoes, pineapples, and coconuts, this trip is for you. If you want to go to a country and greeted with a WELCOME HOME, yes, this trip is definitely for you!. I truly enjoyed the Emotional Roller Coaster ride that has giving me a spiritual awakening and has empowered my mind. Great job to Jay Cameron and the Maximum Impact Team. Well organized and the team ensure we were well informed and ensured our safety.

Maximum Impact is something special. They were recommended after I had a false start with another company that had no personal/human touch. Immediately impressed by the personal touch of Jay’s informational Zoom calls. From the start I felt confident that his guests would be looked after and we were valued. He uses social media and all the technology expertly to enhance the experience but he never uses it as a substitute for the personal touch. He has made great local connections to provide a rich life-changing experience. He curates the tour to balance the fun, interesting and emotional to ensure we could absorb and process the hard things about our history and end on positive notes. He fosters relations within the group so we were able to support each other. Priceless to be with people who need no explanation to understand and respond to your emotions. You will be well cared for, well looked-after and you will learn on so many levels. This is my travel company for the continent. I will definitely be back with Max Impact!

Customer service exceptional! What a pleasure to work with Maximum Impact Travel for this trip. They are thorough and very attentive as there are several steps to traveling to Ghana; the entire Maximum Impact team made the booking process seamless with EASY-to-follow instructions. All questions I had were answered promptly and professionally. And, oh my goodness, once you get to Ghana, you will be warmly received by the Maximum Impact team and treated like a V.I.P. Accommodations are clean and super-comfortable and offer all amenities. Don’t hesitate booking the trip if you’re traveling solo as I was. It’s a trip of a lifetime where you will meet wonderful traveling companions, tour the country with knowledgeable guides and wish that the trip was longer. I LOVED IT! A powerful and stirring cultural tour that also includes fun-loving activities. Outstanding job by Maximum Impact. I’m already planning my next tour with you.

Absolutely incredible experience. Maximum Impact Travel to Ghana was more than I could have ever hoped for. Accommodations, service, food were all top notch but it was the ITINERARY that was on another level. We saw and did things that were once in a lifetime experiences. This is an absolute cannot miss trip everyone should take. From doing the naming ceremony with the Ashanti people to walking into slave river to being in the same dungeons as our ancestors to dancing at a swanky lounge and so so much more. Thank you Jay Cameron for creating this amazing experience. We will definitely be doing many more trips with him and Maximum Impact Travel.

The trip was everything and more! It was well planned and professionally organized. We ate good, laughed a lot and enjoyed great lodging and entertainment. I had three reasons for wanting to visit Ghana: (1) a relaxing vacation, (2) to scope out the possibility of future residency and (3) to learn more about the history and culture of Ghana from a Ghanaian perspective. I must say, all three objectives were completely satisfied, and I also gained a new family on top of that!???? Thank you Jay Cameron. #MaximumImpactTravelRocks #BridgingTheGap

I had a great time on the October Tour. I met what I would now consider some new friends. For many years I had a desire to visit the Motherland, not knowing which country I wanted to visit. Having a B.S. Degree in African American History, this would be a trip of a lifetime and allow me to bridge the information learned and expand my knowledge of our history. Then I saw Jay, watched him for awhile. I was impressed and booked my trip. From the first night the adventure began to the evening that I left, there was one exciting experience after another. Jay’s attention to detail was A+++ (as Rose would say), the restaurants, hotels, our bus, shopping, the trips to the Slave Dungeons, the bridge walk at Kakum Canopy park and the trip to Kumasi, where we were welcomed back home by the King and Queen Mother with a naming ceremony and becoming part of the Ashanti Village. Jay made sure that our experiences would be FIRST RATE and it was without a doubt. There was so much more that we experienced. I’d highly recommend any and everyone to make this trip or any other that is offered by Maximum Impact Tours, you won’t regret it. I’ll be going on another experience with Jay and Maximum Impact Tours next year. Oh, sorry I have to give a shout out to Morris the Awesome, our tour guide, a man with a plethora of information about Ghanaian history and our GPS (CYRUS) you rocked it! Thanks

I will never forget this trip. This was my first time traveling internationally and my first time visiting the continent of Africa. I made the right decision traveling with Jay of Maximum Impact as I have memories that I can remember and pass down to my family. I have met wonderful people on this tour and had experiences that I am ever thankful for. I plan on returning to Ghana and visiting other African countries in the future because of this experience. Thank you!

I had the most educational and enjoyable time in Ghana. The attention to detail and personal connection was worth booking with Maximum Impact Travel Tours. If you’re looking for the experience of a lifetime, then Jay Cameron is the person to do such. Peace and many blessings to him in changing the narrative in visiting the Mother Land.

What can I say? I intended to celebrate my birthday in the Motherland this year after looking at the way Jay’s coordination and personal involvement in this trip and journey was carried out. I’m definitely grateful to call him my brother and property investment mentor after learning and personally witnessing how he has grown into involving himself into returning to the Motherland and all it has to give back to us. I definitely encourage EVERY American black man and EVERY person of color to experience this trip with Jay and unlearn, loosen, and release your westernized way of thinking to travel away from the US. If not Jay, then do it yourself or some other way because you are truly not living your best life until you have. You don’t know what you NEED to know until you do. The US clearly doesn’t want you or your children to know so you NEED to do it yourself FOR yourself, your family, and your generations to come after you. This isn’t a Bucket List, this is a Right Now List, a Mandatory List, a Take Your Family With You NOW List. It is VERY much needed for all of us. I guarantee you WILL NOT be disappointed. I’m going back and I’m going to more countries on the continent with Jay in the future. The best birthday of my life was celebrated on this trip and I finally met my future wife in person for the first time on THIS trip. I got something I never had or received in the US from a spiritual perspective on this trip. I gained a new loving extended family of great people on this trip. We didn’t know each other in the beginning but we covered years of life in 8 days of going through deep spiritual experiences with getting to know each other at the end of the trip. I couldn’t have done this any other way. This definitely takes the cake and the candles to blow out. You’re the man, Jay.

This trip to Accra, with Maximum Impact Travel, will be one of my favorites of all time. Aside from Ghana being a beautiful place to visit, Jay and his team are the ultimate professionals that understand how to create a perfect experience for their tour groups. What stands out for me is the guidance from the team to help prepare well in advance and in the days leading up to departure. They were super responsive with answering questions about travel documents, and all the know-before-you-go details. They thought of everything! The itinerary was the perfect mix of tourist sites and local experience, plus off the beaten path things to do. I could not be more happy with the experience and I highly recommend traveling with Maximum Impact. You will be in GOOD HANDS!!!

Great tour with Maximum Impact Tour. Definitely best described as an “experience”. Something to fit every interest and flexible enough for those wanting to forge ahead full adventure style or those who just want options to hang back a bit and move through the itinerary at a slower pace. Absolutely fantastic knowledge and history included in creative and exciting ways throughout. Lots of great friends acquired along the way, both among tour mates and locals we met and interacted with on the ground. You will be moving through at a good clip, unless you opt not to. I recommend this tour to anyone who wants a soft and comfortable landing in Africa by way of Ghana as well as for an informative and stimulating introductory exploration of Accra, Kumasi, Al mina, Cape Coast and Osu areas. This was a true gateway experience I would say, but also would be great for those experienced with travel in Africa.

We took our entire family which consisted of everyone from teens to seniors and we all had an amazing time. The tour was full of everything we could have imagined including experiencing the food, people, history and culture of Ghana. We loved that we had the chance to spend a day in Kumasi to see the difference between two major cities as well. The Maximum Impact team were excellent hosts. They attended to our every need and request. They also did a great job of handling the large group and attending to individual needs at the same time. Pre-trip they also were extremely helpful with guiding us through the documentation process needed to enter Ghana. The information they provide to prepare you for the trip is top notch and allowed us to both feel comfortable and breeze through the process. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone considering a trip to Ghana or your first trip to Africa. It was the perfect introduction to the continent.

Greetings Everyone My name is Brandy D and I am from California. I recently traveled to the Continent with Maximum Impact Travel for the first time in my life. I had the most Amazing Memorable Educational Vacation ever. I have traveled to many places before but this TRIP changed it all on my future travels. Maximum Impact Travel assisted me through every step that I needed… from the VISA process to the VACCINE information up into my arrival and departure. The accommodations and the genuineness made it all that. They shown me great hospitality of the Continent itself. Every detail from the hotel stays to the amazing food and culture was demonstrated with professionalism. The event planning from the reservations to the ground and shuttle was on point, sometimes planning these type of events can become overwhelming however Maximum Impact Travel did it with ease. I would recommend if you are visiting the Continent for the first time you should definitely give Maximum Impact Travel an opportunity to assist you with your travel needs and also let them know I recommended You. I want to really thank the staff at Maximum Impact Travel because this was a Maximum Impact Experience of a lifetime and I will be back to travel with them again in the near future. Best Regards Brandy

The trip to Ghana was incredible. I have never had such an amazing time with a group of strangers (whom I now call family) in my entire life. From the beginning to the end everything was laid out beautifully. As an event planner, I could tell that every detail was thought out with extreme intention and please note that it was truly appreciated. I have already recommended all of my friends and family that are interested in going to Africa to go with Maximum Impact Travel (Jay Cameron). I will definitely travel with Maximum Impact Travel again because through their professional service I received a lifetime of memories and additional family for a very reasonable price. Thank you so much! With love, Renee from Ohio

This experience hands down has been one of the best experiences I’ve ever had outside of birthing my children. The knowledge and understanding of what our ancestors went though made any history books they have in school not worth ever looking at. I encourage any and everyone to put this on their bucket list. It’s truly an eye opener.
